Sire is really latching onto this whole signing big indie artists idea. Good for them though, this could do well.

I find it fucked up that of all the 111 bands to get an upstream, TSC was before Rookie of the Year and This Day and Age.

hip hip hooorayy!!!
its about time someone caught on to TSC.
best thing sire has done.
I'm excited for this, I think they're a very marketable band. its not pop/punk but more adult rock with a little whinyness but its all good.
I liked the country song from the last album, "Secreat Oath".

111 is really starting to get respect though as a good indie label. I think it would be smart to stick around there for another album, but I still love TSC and can't wait to hear their new stuff.

sorry but i thought WTDWYAD was fuckin wretched.. especially in comparison to Dream To Make Believe.
One Fell Swoop on the other hand was an extremely solid sophmore effort. TSC is amazing for the most part... every album does have a couple stupid songs (Transport A&B)..

AFS on the other hand, started the whole "dark pop" genre in the mainstream. Despite what you think about WTDWYAD, it was a kick ass idea (marred by shitty lyrics).

started dark pop?
alkaline trio had "mainstream" success before AFS did.

started dark pop?
alkaline trio had "mainstream" success before AFS did.Yeah but I still consider Alk3 a lot more "punk" than AFS Will ever be. Likewise, AFS is more pop than Alk, and with some good production, can make a hook to tickle the masses of scene kiddies everywhere.
Do you dispute my statement? Or do you just like arguing with me?

The Spill Canvas blows. The first album was not bad, but aside from the opening riff of Valiant, One Fell Swoop is an absolutely terrible album. Armor For Sleep is not quite so bad, but WTDWYAD was a stupid, stupid idea and the whole ahhhh I'm dead bullshit is what ultimately ruined the genre for me.

I don't think AFS started anything, so yes, I'm disputing it. And they're certainly not "mainstream" - they may be popular but they're not on TRL or anything.

I don't like TSC at all, and I like AFS even though I thought the concept for the last record was mediocre at best.

no, I actually enjoy a lot of bands. I even enjoy that new Underoath record believe it or not.
I just think shitty bands with no redeeming qualities suck.

The only reason TSC has sold 50k records is because of that sticker on the cover containing Jason's quote.

Completely ignorant statements all around, dude.
TSC's newest album is the furthest from emo bullshit as it gets. Any true musician hears the extreme talent and amazing songwriting on that album. It's indie-ish music with great vocal work, i don't see how any of this cd is considered emo bullshit... and it's especially humerous to think that this day and age or rookie of the year is better than TSC. I've played with both of those bands in the past, and in my opinion THEY are the ones who need a more unique sound, they sound like everybody.
