That's a decent deal. I've seen them go for $300 or lower.

I got a great deal on my Orange Rockerverb 50 and my Orange 2x12 cab. I got the head (practically brand new) with an ATA case for $1500 and a brand new cab for $500.

I've also gotten a nice American strat for $700. Lot's of other deals as well. Just keep hitting music forums like harmony-central.com and the deals are always out there.

Peavey Firebass 700 and matching 4x12 cab for 400.

I have plenty of pedals that were used too. There's always good deals on those.

I have one of those SKB powered pedalboards for 50, I think they go for about 250-300 new.

All of my basses were bought new, but my Epi Les Paul Custom was 300 used.

Anytime I go to buy anything I always look at the used gear first. You can find some real gems at pawn shops and such too. Everything except microphones...I don't want to use anything that's been drenched in anybody else's spit.

Man I started playing about 8 years ago and I remember Mexican Fenders were 350 NEW! The guitarist in my first band had one. I loved that thing. I was pissed when he traded it in for a cheap Ibanez RG. =/

I think Fender wanted to move Squier up into that price/quality range. There are some really good Squiers to be had for 300-400 bucks. I got my Squier Pete Wentz Sig. for 300 and it'd be my main bass if I didn't have my 57 reissue. They upped the quality on their American models too, but I haven't played any of the Mexican models lately so I don't know how those are.

Legit 7-piece set for $100. My friend was moving to California and needed to unload it.

I replaced the pickups with 51 nocasters. Totally awesome and worth it.

I picked up a custom white mesa boogie 4x12 with a tan grill with a calzone case for just under $900. I thought that was a steal seeing as the cabs go for over $1,000 on ebay when they pop up
