Still haven't seen them, but i watched some full sets on youtube and it looks like they put on an amazing show. I really want to see them with Converge and Thursday at the Palladium when that comes up

He's definitely not, haha. One of the nicest musicians I've met, even though I hate the whole "THEY'RE SUPER NICE GUYS" argument. He is pretty cool though, and anyone that has met him would agree. Give them a shot!

I too first heard them when I saw them open for Thursday and they were fantastic. I bought the LP and talked to them for a while after the show; they were all really cool/nice/appreciative guys.

Edit: Also I'm so stoked for their split with La Dispute, and the new LP they promised this year.

I didn't get into them soon enough for a first pressing but I don't really care because I am happy with this one and it does look great. Did the first pressing come with the poster as well?

Yeah I think the pressings were identical except for the color. Are the dust sleeves on the second press screen printed as well?

No, it came in just a usual white dust sleeve. It also came with a credits note book paper sized insert and the CD in a white envelope. Which I believe is the same.

I think in the context of his other posts ie: him bragging about playing with all these bands or whatever really helps your point that he was being satirical. I'm not going to say that guy is an asshole (i feel like he's contradicted his lyrics on the board) and i'll admit that he was nice to me the one time we talked, but that doesn't change the fact that I feel like when he gets called out on something, his response is to name drop and show you his hardcore/skramz resume.

Besides, nothing he said really applies to him or if it does, then it also applies to basically everyone here. This kind of music is so far from my cup of tea, but this has got to be the most cathartic music that's come my way in years. Lyrically, this band is right up there with anything else I've ever heard.

Yeah, I like the recording of his voice a lot, it sounds like there's some natural distance between him and the mic. His actual lyrics make me cringe sometimes, like Cadence (which is their best song imo). I can hardly stand the first four lines of that song.

I've never really understood this argument. I love bands like Beau Navire and Ampere whose songs are sometimes as short as 20 or 30 seconds long. As long as the album is good, I don't feel like each song needs to be lengthy enough to stand alone.

That makes sense. I haven't heard it (I'm not a huge fan of them, they've always only been decent to me) but after I listen maybe I'll better understand where you're coming from. If the songs are meant to stand alone, then it is very hard to fully develop a song like that in only a minute or two. I guess I'm thinking more of where the track divisions don't necessarily divide the album into individual, stand alone parts, but are merely just there with each track working towards the greater whole of the album. I just commented because I was talking with my friend about this the other day and he said he wouldn't be able to like an artists with primarily short songs (like one minute in length say).

I get what you're saying, ive never been a big fan of them either but I enjoy the new album. I myself would prefer longer songs, around the 5 minute Mark or more. So I'm used to hearing longish songs and then I listen to Touche and the songs are over after a minute and a half and I'm left wanting more.
