Someone called me just now on *69 with the lamest prank I've ever heard, here at 1am. They pretended they were a classmate of mine asking for homework, and then sat through me patiently saying a long list of numbers. I wasn't even mad, mostly because I haven't gone to sleep yet and it's been a lovely night. But they called back for some reason and now I have the number.
So, question: What is the best way to get a random phone number called by as many strangers as possible?

put it up on craigslist in a posting about a free xbox, or as a hooker giving out freebies!

This is absolutely the way to go. That, or put it in a craigslist to-good-to-be-true relationship classifieds posting with quite a good looking picture. That's a sure-fire way to get some calls.

put a craigslist ad for 60 beaver pelts that have been lying around your house that you just want to give to somebody to get rid of. lots of people call because they are worth a lot but the average person would have no idea (so they believe that youd be giving them away for free).

I've put my umber on 4chan before. No one calls that shit unless you get them interested. If you have a cute girl friend, then take some pictures of her with a timestamp, and post them. You have to post them slowly to get everyone frustrated. Then put the number on it.
Oh, you have to us a tripcode as well, so people know the number is yours.

Edit: So I called him, it's what, 5 am there? Hahaha, I woke him up and made him talk to me for a solid couple of minutes. He thinks it's his friend Casey who wants to take him to the mall to get some shoes. He thinks he/she's on their way to come drag him out of bed with their long triangular fingernails.
