IS THIS A LITTLE brash? The Phillies are guaranteeing a win tonight. Not only that, but if the team fails to do so, they'll give out free tickets for Sunday's game.

Oh, it's not the Philadelphia Phillies who are so full of confidence, it's their minor league

affiliate, the Reading Phillies.

"It's a slam dunk," insists Reading assistant general manager Scott Hunsicker. He went on to point out all the good things that are planned for tonight's game.

He explained that Randy Wolf will be on the mound ("The guy's been an All-Star in 'The Show' "); it's Larry Bowa pint glass night; and it's also Beatles night (anyone named John, Paul, George or Ringo will get in for free).

Heck, we're not gonna knock Hunsicker. It's a great promotion. The only problem we could find is that Sunday is Pat Burrell figurine giveaway for kids. One would think that would draw a good crowd, anyway. We will not be as bold as Hunsicker, but we will make a prediction of our own. With his eagle putt on No. 18 yesterday at the British Open, Tiger Woods put the rest of the field to bed. He'll win this one - convincingly.

even better than that was buck oneil getting an intentional walk for both teams last week.

how mlb's not putting him in the hall of fame boggles my mind.
