I love that term.
Anyway, sometimes, you just have to get out a good cry. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I don't know much about movies, so I just watch The Notebook all the time.

I don't know about any tear-jerking movies, but for music: BrokeNCYDE's 'I'm Not A Fan, But The Kids Like It'. That album always gets me, I never knew how it was so hard to cry, instead of laugh at some good LOLcore.
I may not know my tear- Jerkers... But I do know my jerkers: Adventures of Buttgirl and Wonderwench (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Adventures+of+Buttgirl+and+Wo nderwench/year=1992/adventures-of-buttgirl-and-wonderwench.htm), Ass Titans 1 (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Ass+Titans+1/year=2008/ass-titans-1.htm), Aussie Buttholes (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Aussie+Buttholes/year=2007/aussie-buttholes.htm), Babes In Pornland 14: Bubble Butt Babes (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Babes+In+Pornland+14%3A+Bubbl e+Butt+Babes/year=2003/babes-in-pornland-14%3a-bubble-butt-babes.htm), and Back To The Crack: Butt Munch 2 (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Back+To+The+Crack%3A+Butt+Mun ch+2/year=1999/back-to-the-crack%3a-butt-munch-2.htm). Oh, who can forget Holy Fuck It's Huge 6 (http://www.iafd.com/title.rme/title=Holy+Fuck+It%27s+Huge+6/year=2009/holy-fuck-it's-huge-6.htm).
All insta-classics IMHO. They all seem to be plagued by the same tedious work flow, though. Each one starts off really well then seems to teeter after the 7 minute mark...

+1 on Into the Wild.
Also Marley & Me, or any other movie with a dog. Jesus Christ.

haha ok this thread isnt being taken too seriously, but ill throw in a few that were pretty sad IMO.
-The Notebook, NOT the whole love story thing, but at the end when they died together.
-Titanic, the part where the third class woman is reading a bed time story to her two young kids while the ship is flooding. hate that part, since i have two little boys.

I don't think you can tell me what to actually do, if it is outdated, so be it. I made a "joke", so deal with it or shut up. I couldn't careless if you don't like reading all of the posts I've posted about BrokeNCYDE, if you hate those posts so much then why bother reading them? I'm going to keep doing what I do, and you your own.

Another part of Titanic that gets me every time is when that old couple is just laying in bed together as their room floods.

Eh, they're adults, they know what happening.
As far as the kids go, the mom is trying to make them go to bed, they probably dont know whats about to happen. Imagine having your two young kids about to be drowned in front of you, and you cant do anything about it.

Documentaries are a sure way to get me to cry, usually (Food, Inc. had its moment, Dear Zachary, Deliver Us From Evil, etc.).
In regards to standard cinema:
Awakenings
Up
I Am Sam
My Life
Dead Poets Society
Legends of the Fall
Mr. Holland's Opus
Radio Flyer
My Girl (If you don't cry during the funeral scene and "...he can't see without his glasses," then you have no heart.)
Recovery Room

And I'll put myself out there: Armageddon always gets me at the end.

Oh god and the old couple. I read that both of those parts were based on actual people who all went down with the ship :(
Some real good suggestions. I'm alost afraid at how much I've heard Marley and Me gets you. Pretty much the only things I've seen that were suggested were Titanic, Fox And The Hound, Up and My Girl. I'm definitely adding most of these to my Netflix, thanks alot, guys! Anything else is still welcomed!

Also I didn't know Green Mile was a cry movie, but since everyone is suggesting it I'll probably check it out. What's that movie from the 80s with all armadillo cake? Is that the same one where someone gets cancer? I heard that's a good one too.

Only movie that ever made me cry was American History X. I don't understand watching sad movies for the purpose of crying either; there are other ways to feel emotion without getting worked up about a piece of fiction.
*crying stars*
02/15/10, 01:43 PM
Apollo 13, for whatever reason
Forrest Gump
Titanic
Up (or the pivotal scenes in Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc, Toy Story 2)
Fox and the Hound
Honestly, I avoid movies like these because I cry at sappy things anyway, haha.

This one is a definite tear-jerker. Great movie (and visually stunning). The part when Robin Williams finds out Cuba is his son gets me everytime

DPS is my favorite movie of all time. After I've dated a girl for a little while, I'll watch it with her and watch her reaction when Neil is at his house after the play. The reaction during that part usually says a lot to me about the person sitting next to me.

Slumdog got me because of how inspiring it was (even the trailer with Sigur Ros chills me and makes me tear up). The end, especially when it says: "D. It is Written," was so emotionally gratifying after everything he went through and it really choked me up.
If you don't cry from this you might be dead inside. Or have never had a dog.

My definition of cry is very loose. I teared up. I'm counting it. But I think I'm alone on that one.
The sequence from the time that she picks up the phone when he calls his lifeline until they meet at the train. It's mostly the music. It's absurdly beautiful.

When someone says "ohhh X movie is sooooo sad especially the ending snfdjdidveh:828:$jejdid" I figure out the whole entire movie in 12 seconds and it is no longer sad or entertaining.. just 2 hours of me sitting around waiting for something to die.
