I think this is getting blown way out of porportion. I'm with Chad, just because it's Max who started the drama. Like both of their music, but this needs to be put to bed.

I just think Max overreacted. It's a song ffs. As Chad already said, people use their past experiences to write lyrics and this is no different. Now, I could understand if Sheri's name was mentioned or something to that extent, but I think 95% of listeners wouldn't even know it was about her. Chad wrote a song using past experiences of love as an inspiration. To me, that was not a big deal at all but has been blown out of proportion by Bemis chucking the dummy out.

The difference is that everyone was finally almost over all the drama that had been happening about that split and it's obvious people are still very sensitive about it. He can't pretend that he didn't know people would assume it was her. Putting the song up knowing that everyone would react this way was in bad taste.

Regardless of who you are, writing a song about something is not illegal, and he wasn't committing slander or anything seeing as her name's not in the song. (I don't think)
