Not sure how to handle a situation

Myself not being a typical girl, im not sure how to handle things sometimes when they present themselves. My best friend has been in to this guy for about 4 years and recently i ran in to him at a bar, well i didnt talk to him all night and twards the end of the night when the bar was starting to empty out i was sitting there alone and he came over and started talking to me and bought me another beer. which was cool. and we hit it off big time well he proceeds to give me his number and tell me to call him. we end up hanging out the next night and he leaves me with call him. (which i havent yet and this was tuesday)
my best friend knows bits and pieces of what happened but to protect her myself and him i havent told her the whole story. hes obviously not in to her but i dont want to betray a friendship nor deny this guy because he is a catch and if was simply in for a fuck hed definitly have tried already and i think ive made it rather clear to him i dont want that and/or was he getting it from me.


im to old to have never been thru this one. help?

go out with him again. your friend should understand, if its been 4 years and nothing, she has to move on. i would wait a long time until you parade him in front of her if this relationship turns into anything. As you know, girls can hold looooong grudges, so be honest with her and let her decide when she is decide to maybe see you together with the dude or whatever. Its tough, but hopefully she is reasonable.
