I just finished this up by watching 1983 tonight, and I have to say it was one of the best things I've watched in a long time. Highly, highly recommended.

I have 1974 and 1980 on my computer, they both look fantastic. Cannot wait for time to watch them.
Which did you enjoy the most of the three?

I'd rank 1983 as one of the best things I've ever seen broadcast on television. Absolutely awesome.

Pretty stoked to finally see this thing! Comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray in August.
And have any of you guys read these yet? I was going to get them but my Barnes and Noble and Borders are both out of stock on the first.

To those who have seen it, is it worth it to buy it on DVD ? Really wanted to check it out in theaters.

'80 is the best by a long shot. Don't really see why we need a remake, but I guess asking this question has become pointless by now. If anything is moderately successful overseas, it's going to have an American remake. Just something we'll have to live with, I guess.

Totally agree, these are amazing pieces of film. Watched them when they first aired over here last year. I don't understand how a re-make could work or be anywhere near as brilliant.
Already a thread on this too by the way: http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1380082

Surprised by the all-positive consensus in here; really botched opportunity this turned out to be. '74 was a particular turd, but Garfield sucks in general.
