So I attended the salt lake bees game last night "aaa team for the angels" and Curtis Pride got thrown out for arguing a strike call...needless to say it was complete bullshit and we ended up losing the game..
Dallas Mcpherson jacked one though that was pretty sweet.
Anybody else attend aaa games?

mid level single A ball is where it's at!
I go to a few West Michigan White Caps games, one of the Single A affiliates for the tigers. i also go to the Kalamazoo Kings, a frontier league here like 10 minutes from me. Frontier League's is as low as professional baseball gets.

yeah, i used to go to some Michigan Battle Cats games when they were in Battle Creek which is closer to me than Grand Rapids where the White Caps are. at that time the battle cats were one of the Houston Astros Single A affiliates. Guys like Chad Qualls, Mike Gallo, Chris Burke and John Buck (the Royals starting Catcher).
They that team folded and became the Battle Creek Yankees for two years and in 2004 Melky Cabrera played there now it's the southwest michigan devil rays.

i dont know how many a's but i went to a toledo med hens game last night (detroits minor league affiliate) and they lost to the durham bulls 5-1, in a game which my hens struck out so many times it was fucking insane. our DH went 0-4 and so did some other batters.

i've been to dayton, chattanooga, and louisville (reds a, aa, and aaa respectively) and i've also been to oklahoma city to see the rangers' aaa affiliate. i was about five feet from josh towers in louisville before he made it to the majors. i wish i could have seen into the future so i could have laughed at him right there.

that's our Triple-A affiliate. You were a year late, you should have gone last year when Zumaya, Verlander, Ledezma, Granderson, Thames, etc were all there for the majority of the year.

Cleveland Indians AAA represent!
Did you go to the game back in May or June when CC Sabathia made his rehab start? I wanted to go but I had to work.
The Bisons have had so many good players over the last 10-15 years. Probably because the Indians have been the masters of developing talent.

growing up i lived halfway between scranton/wilkes-barre and binghamton. i've always enjoyed AA ball more than AAA (as you tend to see more future prospects in AA, rather than washed up, older players who just aren't going to make the show in AAA). also, binghamton has a really nice, intimate field. and when they opened, the tigers' AA team was the london tigers, and then became the trenton thunder, both of whom played against binghamton. i got to see bubba trammell, TC (tony clark), and a few other tiger notables at the time.
however, i've always enjoyed watching the mud hens play at scranton. my grandfather knows the guy in charge of the visiting teams at scranton and actually got me in to be a batboy when the mud hens came to town once. it was beautiful. i got to talk with justin thompson (huge tigers pitching prospect who amounted to about as much as every other tigers prospect in the 90s) before the game for a while. i got to stand on the 3rd base line during the national anthem with the team and perform all the bat boy duties for 7 innings. even got a broken bat. was probably 12 at the time. easily one of the coolest moments of my life.
let me just say one thing though.... professional baseball players LOVE porn. i swear, nearly every player in that clubhouse before the game had a porn magazine in hand.
god i love baseball

Damn..Yeah I remember seeing those fews guys at Trenton too the one year they were with the Tigers before the Red Sox..
Scranton is a great place to see a game..its a mini veterans stadium. Seen so many games over the years (not so many the last 3-4 I think)..including my first game against Tidewater in 1991 (Standing room only believe it or not)..I hope I get there this weekend when I go :)

No, I wanted to real bad but same reason. He came back to Cleveland and was on fire but when you play on a team where you're one of maybe 2-3 decent starting pitchers, even if you pitch well it will be all for nothing. Its too bad they send these great young players to a team that needs 9-10 runs a night to win games because most of their starting pitchers and bullpen are shit.
But I love going to random Bisons games and seeing some of these guys play that might be stars in the bigs in a few years (Sizemore anyone?).

man, you actually like scranton's stadium? not really a fan because of the turf and the nosebleed seats are absolutely horrible. i played some soccer tournaments/games on that field throughout high school and damn that ball flew everywhere. anyways, scranton is losing their affiliation with the phillies next year. i believe they are moving to allentown and another team will be moving in (i think baltimore perhaps? seeing as i think they are losing their ottawa affiliate.)

Peralta's ok, sometimes I feel like he could use a few AAA games here and there. Back when I was younger and went to Bisons games I never really paid attention to player names, I just cheered. Wish I would've.

curtis pride is a legend....morales wasnt hitting well and the angels are trying howie kendrick at first. morales will be up soon enough along with jeff mathis and dallas mcpherson. we have too many stars in our minor league system. i guess its a good problem to have.

50 minutes north of me is the mid level Single-A affiliate for the tigers, The West Michigan White Caps. In Lansings they have the Lansing Lugnuts the single-a affiliate for someone, i forgot who for. It used to be the cubs single a affiliate. and about 25 minutes east of me are the South West Michigan Devil Rays, tampa's single-a affiliate.
And just down the road from me are the Kalamazoo Kings of the frontier league, which is independet baseball.

no we dont even care. those that care just drive to san diego for the chargers...we are laid back about everything and the fact that we dont have a team is like o well we'll just watch the lakers or the dodgers. if we did actually get a team we would look at it as something to do on a sunday afternoon we really are some of the worst sports fans. dodgers fans show up in the 3rd inning and leave in the 8th inning.
