After finally getting around to seeing Lawrence of Arabia I realized I am becoming a David Lean fanboy. Anyone else appreciate the genius that is David Lean?

Big fan.

What other films of his have you seen?

Doctor Zhivago, Great Expecations and Brief Encounter. In short, not enough. But not one of those do I give less than a 9/10.

You definitely need to see The Bridge on the River Kwai. I consider it to be his best work.

I'm still waiting on a Blu-Ray transfer for most of his films..

I don't have a blu-ray player. Some day.

And funny you should mention River Kwai. Just put it near the top of my queue today. That is prob my biggest movie fan sin at present. That or 2001.

I'm also really jazzed to see A Passage to India while I'm in a Lean mood.

Oh, good lord. You must fix this.

I can't really talk. I still haven't seen Apocalypse Now.

We all have our sins. Part of me put off Lawrence so long because I wanted to know I still had a guarantedd 10/10 out there.

Can't say I'm a big fan. But I did really like Hobson's Choice (though that may have had more to do with Laughton than Lean).

Brief Encounter = best. River Kwai didn't do much for me.

You don't strike me as a big fan of grand spectacle.

Haha no. I'm much more Bresson and much less Lean. I do however, love Laughton and anything he is in.

I've only seen Mutiny and Witness, but I was pretty impressed by him.

Yeah. Bridge on the River Kwai was incredible. That now makes three 10's and two 9's for him.
