Has anyone done it? Is it weird?

Yes, I've done it. No, it's not really weird. When I go with people I tend to get separated from them during the headliner anyway.

I've only been to one concert alone. It was alright, but I much prefer going with friends.

Go alone. Better chance of bringing someone home.

I've done it twice, and had fun both times. But they were also concerts of bands I love, so I got into the music enough to not care that I didn't have anyone to talk to. The only time it was weird was between sets, but just hang out at the bar or whatever.
I know the Cinci area pretty well...assuming you have a show in mind for this question, what venue is it at?

Never done it but I get separated from people anyways every concert I've been too anyways.
done it, prefer going with friends, especially when the support act sucks and you need a drinking partner

If it's a seated concert might be a little weird, ga won't be a big deal at all

I haven't gone alone, partly because I'd rather go with friends, partly because it's too costly (transportation, lodging) to be worth it when you have as far to go as I do to a show, but if a show was close by and I really wanted to go, I'd go alone.

AvA and Say Anything at Bogart's.
If the choice is go alone or don't go, Go.
It's fucking Say Anything. You can't get much better than that.
At least you don't have two dates in your state, both on school days.

Go for it. Bogart's is the kind of place where you won't stick out as being by yourself, if that's your concern. And last time I saw Say Anything (at Bogart's, actually), they put on a pretty good show.

I have done this before and it's not bad, just find something to do between sets thats when you start to feel awkward.
I've been to way more concerts alone than with someone since none of my friends like the kind of music I like. It's not weird at all, it's kind of awkward in between sets, though. But I usually use that time to text people or go to the bathroom.
I wouldn't go to a festival alone, though, because festivals seem more like social events to me. But going alone to a concert is a ton of fun, and you usually don't notice you're alone once the music starts anyway.

Yes, I've done it. I went to Warped Tour alone. It was odd at first, but after a while you get warmed up and start talking to people that you wouldn't talk to had you gone with friends.

If you have an option to bring friends, especially ones that know Say Anything, it'll be way better. I had a great time at one of their shows last November with a friend who barely knew them and another who barely even liked the genre.

And it comes to DC the day after my birthday too. I'm blown.

Yeah, I go to some shows by myself. The only time I don't go by myself is when my parents make me take someone with me because they think I'll die if I go downtown by myself. My friends usually suck when they come to shows with me.

Been to a few. Better going with someone. None of my friends will want to go to the AVA and Say Anything tour though so I might go alone which kinda makes sense because I will have to go into the soundcheck alone.

I've gone to a few alone. Nothing really different if you're actually just going to see the bands. Some of the bands I like have really active web communities and I've met some people thorugh there that I tend to hang out with at concerts that I can't get a sister/friend from home to come with me.

If your just going to see the band or whatever it's not any different then going with friends. The only reason friends help is they can drive you there. It's not like you talk to them during the show.

I have to go to a lot of concerts alone because most of my friends aren't as into music and concerts and me. As long as you love the bands, it's always a good time. Like others have said, you end up getting separated anyways, and trying to keep track of people during a concert sucks.
For normal shows, I'd say that I don't enjoy it. But for a festival such as Warped Tour, I much prefer going by myself. I can go see all of the bands that I want and not have to worry about where my friends are at at all times of the day.
I went to see Green Day and Sum41 alone. Probably going to Sound wave alone too. It's more fun with friends but you get separated anyway.
Been there, done that. It's not that big of a deal as some people made it out to be. As long as I like the band enough I'm there, no matter if my friend wants to come or not

i dont mind going to shows solo, id rather go with friends. but any show in columbus ill go alone if none of my friends will go. i went to a show in cinci alone and that wasnt too cool but that was cause of the drive time. any other show ive gone alone was alright

Hmmm. I've gone out to eat at a diner a 2am by myself alone once.. It was different... That's for sure. Waitress hooked it up fat with the food because she probably thought I was running away from home. Haha.
As far as a concert, no. Never have and I hope it doesn't ever come down to it. I've got a friend who basically loves all the same music as I, and loves show going as much so I should be set.

EVERY YEAR at warped tour, i always get seperated from my group that goes.
but it nevers fails to be the happiest day of the year for me.
and i always end up making random friends for whatever set i am at.
so its cool.

I go to shows alone all the time. It can be awkward in-between sets when everyone is talking with their friends, but when the music starts everyone is on their own in the pit. Usually people are friendly at shows and you'll make some new friends if you strike up a conversation with random people. Every show I've gone to alone has been a lot of fun. I Still think shows are more fun with friends, but all my friends are not into the music I am, and only listen to metal and whats on the radio. Most of my friends had never even heard of Brand New (another show I went to alone a few weeks ago). I'll probably go to 15 or 20 shows alone this year but go with a group of like 20 to Mayhem Festival because all my friends want to go to that over all the other shows, but I'm totally cool with that. Thats just the way it is.
Been to a couple of shows alone. I prefer going with someone, but in those circumstances, it was either go alone or don't go at all. I'm glad I did go, they were great shows, and I would've regretted missing them. Like other people have said, it is just a bit awkward inbetween bands trying to find something to do.

I'd prefer to go with friends, most definitely, but I've had to go to a show or two alone. Not the most fun, but it beats having to miss a show. I've even met some pretty cool people just talking between sets and shit.

I've been to loads of gigs on my own and always have a good time. I even went to a two day festival on my own once. It was good.

I've only been to two by myself. And they were two of the most intimate, amazing shows I've ever been to. Bizzare coincidence.

I went with friends last year and I ended up seperating from them for the majority of the day anyway, because we wanted to see different bands so it doesnt really make a difference. Plus you meet new people too, so its cool.
I refuse to miss a show just because my friends are stupid.

I find my taste is increasingly differing from my friends (they like the predictable Pitchfork bands and I do too, they're keen and all, but it's hard to get them interesting in seeing NOMO or something of that ilk or some cool Jazz ensemble on campus), so I find myself frequenting shows on my own. It's fine. I do what I normally do with a friend/date - I stand and watch, which is fun for me. The last two times I went alone, I also got hit on and one of the guys and I hooked up and became friends, so that was nice.
I don't usually meet people at shows or bring them there. I find that the majority of the music I listen to is different than the people I'm friends with, so I just end up going by myself. Although I've become accustomed to it, it's certainly not as enjoyable as going with someone else.

I've been going to shows alone for years. My friends all have different taste.
My ex girlfriend used to be my concert companion, but now I have to see NFG by myself. It should be interesting.

I have been to one show by myself (DTN) and I felt pretty awkward. Mostly because everyone knew each other already from growing up together and getting into hardcore together.
I think it would be different if I went to a Circa show, a band who I feel more of a connection too. You could always just strike up a conversation at the show with someone.

ive always thought about it...but it just seems like it would be akward. wish my wife liked concerts, ugh.

I can't imagine not going to a show just because no one else wants to go. Sometimes there's people to go with, sometimes there's not but if I like the band, I'm going to go see them either way. It's not like you can talk all that much during the gig anyway.

Ahhhh. So true. I have to deal with them in all-state chorus. Everyone thinks that just because they have 20 kids from their school they're soooo much better. It's quite obnoxious.

when i was in high school i would always go with a big crowd and stuff...and that was fun...but as everyone went to college i was forced to either NOT GO to concerts or simply go alone...so i decided to just go alone, and it's fine. I mean I'd rather mosh it up with a friend and bounce around with them...but I tend to only go to bands that I really love anyways.
I even went to bamboozle alone for a whole day...and it was okay
