Southland is going to be released this year.

Children of Men is my early call for movie of the year. It looks absolutely stunning and I cannot wait. Plus, the use of Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros in the preview makes this one go to 11.

Southland is this year? Where did you hear that?

And don't forget Clive Owen.

No.

Clerks II is the comedy of the year, I'm calling it right now.

Southland Tales has been getting hammered by both the press and the public who saw it at Cannes

Southland is getting re-edited to try to save it, Sony picked it up for distribution and will probably release it early 2007.

USA November 2006 - Southland Tales. Always consult the almighty gods of IMDB.

Also, Cannes reports on Southland were mixed, with responses ranging from absolutely visionary to total trash. My personal favorite movie columnist said it was inspired but needed touch ups on editing to really make sense, and supposedly Kelly is working on that for another go-round at Toronto.

Clive Owen looks amazing in Children of Men. I can't stop thinking about how great it looks. The Prestige is my second pick, but Children of Men right now is a step up on everything. The cast, the look, Cuaron, the music, the premise...everything. It's my type of movie.

This is with nothing REALLY blowing me away this year so far. Lots of fun stuff, not a whole lot of stellar work though. It's bad news I think when Over the Hedge is in consideration for my favorite movie of the year so far, although it was fucking fantastic. Btw, I have seen 30+ films so far this year in theaters, with many more new ones being watched at home on DVD. I'm just a sucker for quality animation.

i saw a special on A&E about the zodiac killer. crazy ass story and now i want to see that movie too He's the most interesting serial killer, I've found him to be so mind boggling. You read some of his letters to the police and some of the crimes he commited, he was an insane human being. He was very uneducated by the looks of the letters too. They still never found out who did all the murders, they had like 5 suspects and one almost definite..but they never caught him.

He was very uneducated by the looks of the letters too.

Or he was educated enough to lead the police to believe he was uneducated.

Ohhhhh

I read a book about serial killers that were never caught. Jack the Ripper, Zodiac, and a few others I can't think of right now. I also can't think of the name of the book, so this isn't very helpful at all. It was a good book, though.

You forgot Zach Braff's new film, The Last Kiss.

It's not written / directed by him, therefore, I don't care.

It's not going to be anywhere close to Garden State.

Haggis at least wrote it, which is a hell of a thing in itself.

But when it comes to this, I feel the need to be a bitch and complain that threads that consist of nothing but lists die so quick and are boring.

He was very uneducated by the looks of the letters too. They still never found out who did all the murders, they had like 5 suspects and one almost definite..but they never caught him.the dude seemed pretty educated from what i saw. he sent the police so many clues and they still couldnt figure it out. hell he even sent them a diagram on how he was going to shoot up this school bus and experts said that the logistics of it were very possible.
