I thought K's wife divorced K (from what I remember from seeing the sequel only once a long time ago) for whatever reason. They had gotten back together but, for the machinations of the sequel's plot I suppose, she left K and so he had no problem going back to the M.I.B. since his life as a postman was dull and boring. Or something like that.

Oh yeah....I forgot about that part. I never liked the sequel that much, but it did still have a few choice lines of dialogue. Particularly the "flush me" line.
