Fair enough. I don't really. I only care for the sake of all the conversations I will undoubtedly get into about it.

The second half was a lot more sincere seeming than the first half. I think the most emotion he showed was when he was talking about how the press misconstrued and lied about that fateful Thanksgiving night and accusing him of taking P.E.Ds as well as following his family around. I almost believe in you Tiger, now go win the Masters.

This is why the media is as powerful as it is, millions of people will believe anything it tells them. You really think a porn star, someone who gets paid to fuck and take loads in every orifice of her body, wasnt on birth control? This also begs the questions the news didnt ask, since shes obviously sleeping with other men since it was her job, why didnt she think it could be any number of men and not specifically tiger. She is a whore and will do anything for money, you REALLY think she kept it from tiger and paid for her own abortion and did not take money for it (and millions more) if she really did get knocked up? Pretty sure if i called inside edition and told them tiger slept with me i could make a bunch of money to be interviewed.
Back to the topic-i dont care. I wanna see him play golf i dont really care about his personal life. Yes, he is a total scumbag but i dont prioritize my role models with the best sports stars who make the most money.
It was very lame, and attacking the paparazzi isn't going to get him anywhere.

Well that 'cunt' has done more for sports than almost any athelete. The guy likes to fuck - big deal! The only person that deserves an apology is his wife. That's it. Not the fans, not anyone. His golf career and good works outshine any personal matters in his life.
p.s You sound like an ignorant douche, becuase his wife already did leave him.

I was debating the wording also, but I thought that as far as athletes as a whole he is one of the most well-known across the board.

When you makes as much money as he does off of your public image then you owe them something. I don't think he needs to anything else than he's done, but something like this was needed. That said I want him to play golf again and it won't change me wanting him to dominate.

He did seem robotic. The only part of the whole speech he said with passion was when he talked about how there were NEVER any acts of domestic violence in his relationship.

I'll still support him when he gets back on the golf course, but this was a necessary thing for him to do in order to start improving his public perception. Whether it's right to expect a public apology like that is certainly up for debate, though.
And I'm always confused by the people who say "hey, the guy just liked to fuck, what's the big deal?" It's not a big deal if you're single, but the guy was married with kids. He acted like a selfish asshole, no way around it. That said, I hope he turns things around and dominates when he gets back on the course. He's a tremendous athlete and competitor.

Seriously though. Fuck Tiger Woods.
If he was genuinely sorry he would have come clean a long time ago instead of absolutely ruining his public image with all the silence and secrecy.
At least we still have Roger Federer, the only remaining member of the Gilette Advertising Triumvirate who isn't a dirty rotten cheater (Henry), or a dirty rotten cheater (Woods).
dont care

thank you, that's what i've been saying. he doesn't owe us an apology at all.
No, he owes us ALL an apology. The whole time, he was lying to us. Keeping up this fake image of a clean-cut, faithful family man, collecting millions of dollars from sponsorship revenue based on that very image. The whole time, kids were looking up to him as a role model on the golf course, while in his spare time he was driving his balls deep down fairways that he wasn't supposed to be swinging on. What a fraud.
He betrayed his wife, family, and ALL of his fans. I'm done with this scumbag.

He betrayed his family. Thats it.
His sponserships came from being the best golfer on the planet.
He owes nobody a public apology. Any apology owed is to his wife, and that belongs to remain private.
I dont understand this sense of entitlement people feel. His actions did not effect your life one bit.

You are retarded
If he comes back and wins whatever major he decides to return in time for or at least makes a run on sunday, nobody's gonna care. That being said, I'm glad he came out and apologized. He didn't owe it to us, but since it was a private issue made public, he gave it to us. He's gonna get a second chance as pretty much everyone does. I think he's going to end up doing all the right things and be like countless other athletes that made there mistakes seem like ancient history.

i'm not disrespecting his athletic ability, he's clearly amazing at playing golf. that doesn't stop him from being a cunt though. also him liking to fuck is a big deal when he's got a fucking wife and kid, and happens to be a role model for people all over the place. they haven't gotten a divorce yet, have they?

It's in the Onion article as:
"I'll probably be a little rusty," Woods said. "But once I swing the old cock around a few times and get it in the first couple holes, I'm confident that I'll still be able to drive it as deep as I always have."
But it pretty much makes itself up, thanks to the golf jargon of balls, holes, driving, fairways and swinging... a lot like the baseball metaphors for sex (first base, all the way, struck out, switch hitter etc).

He betrayed his wife, family, and ALL of his fans. I'm done with this scumbag.1) I'm as much of a fan of Federer as anyone but how do you know he hasn't been unfaithful? Sounds like you're still putting yourself in a position to feel cheated by assuming things about people you don't know in the slightest.
2) Why does he owe you an apology? Were you married to him or are you either of his two children? If not then there is no way he could have affected your life negatively by cheating on his wife. You may not have the same amount of respect or admiration for him but that changes nothing about how live your own life.
3) Who ever said that he was selling himself as a "faithful family man?" Phil Mickelson is a prime example of someone who has done that. Last time I checked Tiger's wife or kids have never appeared in one of his commercials. He also doesn't allow them to run out on the 18th green after he wins a tournament unlike Phi who never lets an opportunity pass to get his family on camera. Tiger purposefully keeps them out of the limelight and sells himself as his own entity, not as part of a family. The fact that you assumed he was a "faithful family man" is your problem, not his, so he doesn't owe you or anyone else with that viewpoint an apology.
4) If you're this offended when married celebrities cheat on their spouses then you might as well stop being a fan of them in general since you're bound to be disappointed more often than not.
5) He cheated on his wife; he didn't kill anyone. Find some perspective and focus your attention on problems in this country that actually affect you.

This is the dumbest thing ever. He owes his family an apology and that is all. I'm glad he apologized to his fans, seeing how he is a role model and all...but in all seriousness, there isn't a story I cared about less than this one in the last five years. He's still a gtreat golfer and I will root for him when I want to.

He can apologize to the public by coming back and winning some tournaments.
He owes us nothing, plenty of douche bags cheat on their wives.
