I'm looking for a little advice as to what my next phone should be. I renew my contract with Verizon next month and I've been looking at Droid phones (Eris in particular) but am annoyed by the high data plan prices to be tacked onto my unlimited texts price. The Samsung Rogue and enV Touch require only a $10 data plan but i don't know.

I'm open to any suggestions to be honest. If you have a bitchin' phone, let me know the name and what you like about it, etc.

I have the Rogue and I love it. The only thing I don't really like about it is that it only comes with about 10 apps. Also, the battery life could be better. But, it's still a great phone.

i say get the droid eris, droid, or palm pre. the data plan is 100 percent worth it imo.

droid eris - solid phone. nothing to special but it gets you into android for 100 dollars. great deal.

droid - really good phone. hardware feels great (also more powerful then devour). android 2.1 coming soon.

palm pre - ingnore the mom comercials. it is an outstanding phone. multitouch and gestures for everything. great web browser. THE BEST LOOKING SMART PHONE OPERATING SYSTEM.

honestly i say if you have never had a smart phone before get the palm pre. decent amount of apps. outstanding web browser. really cool interface. keyboard (kinda small but you get used to it)

if you want to use the phone mainly for apps and like customizing stuff then i say get an android phone. minus the devour (underpowered, old os version, overpriced, ugly)

***this is coming from a kid who has had the palm pre on sprint (loved the phone hated the reception). the droid now. my brother has the eris, played with it alot. plus we both live in rochester.

if you don't want a phone for data stuff, i have the Alias 2 and i love it. it's the phone that opens portrait and landscape. i would highly recommend it.
