Joanna Newsom (Some call her pscyh-folk, others call her avant-garde, but she really defies all genres. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9djWq0fP6s) has a new album coming out in a few days, a triple LP clocking in at a staggering two hours titled Have One on Me. And, since from a leak that sprung a few days ago it's already looking to be the best album of the year, I figured the girl needed some praise.
Anyone else a fan?

I gotta get this, Milk-Eyed Mender and Ys are both great.

The album's more in the vein of Ys, but the arrangements are a lot more accessible. IMO it's the highlight of her career so far.

I've got it, just haven't had two hours to spare to really listen to it.

I haven't seen you in forever. How're you doin'?
My favorite artist. Really looking forward to this, it's sitting on my itunes but I probably won't listen until I get the LP in the mail the next couple of days
In terms of her other wok, Ys I feel is better, but I love The Milk-Eyed Mender more, and I know it's kind of early, I mean really early, to be talking about her next album(if she has one), but I would love something just in the vein of The Milk-Eyed Mender again, because that record is perfect.

I definitely agree. All of her CD's are great so far, but Milk Eyed Mender has a more minimalist feeling.. it's mostly just her and the harp, while her new CD has a lot of more to the arrangements. I'm only halfway through, but so far, it's easily her best batch of songs.

I really liked what youtube singles I've heard from the new album, but I haven't gotten a chance to pick it up yet.
