so what are they going to do? put that same garbage from last year back out on the court? carney won't make enough of a difference for them to finish any higher then 7th...billy king - the sooner you tear it down, the faster you build it back up

sigh...billy king.
i love AI and I want him to retire a sixer. the way i figure it, we aren't going to win anyway, so might as well lose with the guy on our team.

its really easy to accept that, so honestly, it's not frustrating. the other three teams we have should be good though, so when they blow, i want to jump out a window. but the sixers? you know what you get. totally incompetant. even when they made the finals you knew what it was.

don't be stupid. AI alone is worth the same number of wins the knicks will have.

yeah the Sixers won't do well next year at all. Iverson will have no motivation knowing he will gone eventually anyway...just like last season. Who knows maybe they will surprise us all...

that doesnt change the fact that the knicks > raptors though
ugh i guess i opened all my sixers stuff from the attic way to soon, i thought i could proudly wear it in public this season, oh well, packing it all back up and letting it collect dust until the team ever, i dont know goes in a direction opposite of the one they are going in now i guess.

the knicks have done nothing to improve themselves. they wont win more than 25 games this season. the raptors however have bargnani who i think will put up around 14 and 8 this season. tj ford running their point, who's a good passer, and can score when needed. id expect 13 ppg and 7 apg for him. bosh is going to be 20/10 this season. the raptors have some good role players too. id say the raptors win at least 40 this season.

caleb, did you forget that Zeke is coaching now. therefore, they'll clearly win 58 games this year.

40? no way, that puts them in the playoffs. i say they win 32-35. maybe,
they had mike james last year, who i think is better than tj ford. and villaneuva is gone too. it all depends on how well bargnani steps in i guess

Truthfully, if anyone really followed the sixers, you would realize that a lack of depth was the problem with the sixers and defense. The Sixers more often than not in their losses would be up by close to double digits at half. Rarely did they get blown out completely.
This year, you have a healthy Dalembert. They drafted 2 perimeter defenders in Carney and Jones. They are also getting Willie Green back this year and he will help with the scoring and defending. The Sixers talent rotation was maybe 6 deep and that was just because they'd bring Korver off the bench. Now they are getting some scoring and defense back from injuries.
You know Iverson and Webber are going to give you close to 50 each night combined. If the other 3 starters and the bench can combine for 50, they will 10 games more than they lose. Defense was their issue, not putting points on the board. They drafted defenders and they are getting defenders back from injury.
Also, I think this kid Louis Williams may turn some heads. Carney, Korver, and Williams can all hit three too. The sixers are also going to be a highlight show with Carney and Igoudala who will be in his 3rd year.

About the Knicks.....they havent changed their roster, but the departure of Larry Brown can only help them. The guy used over 40 different starting lineups, half the roster hated playing for him, and he benched the young energy guys for guys like Malik Rose and Jerome James. It is possible they could get in the top heavy East playoffs as an 7 or 8 seed, but i'm not holding my breath. The reports from summer league and early practices all say that the players love playing for Zeke, they're so much happier, so who know maybe they get 10 more wins. He wants to play up tempo, and they def have the players for it. Should be interesting to watch

you're absolutely right. getting rid of one of the best coaches in the game today always helps a team out tremendously.
it was his first fucking year. he had to figure out what he could do with the pile of shit roster he was handed. he couldn't be expected to do shit in year one. had they kept him around for this year, maybe they win 10 more because everything starts kicking in.
i will be beyond shocked if they win more than 20 games this season. you think shit's been crazy so far, i think it's only beginning. isiah coaching isn't going to end well.

Hes one of the best coaches in the game, i agree. But his coaching was questionable. At the beginning of the year, he said he was starting players on the road when they played in their home town. What kind of logic is that? Plus, it doesn't take a genius to realize Malik Rose and Jermome James are terrible and that Curry, Frye and Lee are better and show more promise, so what the fuck was he thinking there?
Bottom line, his players hated him. He criticized them openly in the media, and they turned their back on him. His bashing of Marbury may have been true, but you don't air in the media, you say it to his face. The players despised him. If he was still here this year, theres no way these guys play for him. Isiah isnt a great coach but for this roster, Brown does not fit and 10 more wins with him is ridiculous

he's coached a million places. and everywhere has been loads better by the time he left. so clearly, his thinking works for him.
nobody could have fixed the knicks overnight, not even brown. getting rid of him after one season is the dumbest move this offseason by any team i think.

well, the genius who signed jerome james for that RIDICULOUS contract, traded for malik rose, and gave up your draft picks for eddy fuckin curry, is now your head coach! man that's got to be exciting!
the knicks will finish dead last this year.

the arugument is about brown, not isiah. obviously isiah is a moron, the roster sucks. hes an idiot. but no one will take these guys, so you can't change your roster. the only thing you can change is your coach, who everyone hated.

and what im getting at is they fired brown because 'everyone' hated him....and in return, they bring in their highly criticized gm who's not exactly loved by everyone. horrible move. they wont win more than 20 games. which is really sad because there is alot of talent on that roster.

ok, i'll give you that. hes a shitty coach, and your gm as your coach is pretty bad. but if theres a lot of talent, and the players like him, and they want to play up tempo ball (which doesn't really involve much coach interaction), they can definitley win more than 20 games. the only problem is francis. he doesn't fit. if him and marbury can work together in a up tempo offense with crawford, curry, frye, richardson and rose.... that can win games. probably not playoffs, but more than 20

that doesnt change the fact that the knicks > raptors though
sliced bread > new york knicks.
raptors will win at least 10 more games than them in 06/07.
