Personally, I love them. I think William Beckett has a really good voice. Has anyone seen them at Warped yet?I'm going on saturday. If you did see them, how were they? I really haven't heard anything about their live show.

Thats good. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm kicking myself because last year at warped, I walked past william and I waved and he waved back and stuff, but I wasn't really into TAI at that point so I didn't get a picture with him or anything. I knew who he was, I just didn't really care. i do now, though, so i regret it alot.

I don't mind The Academy Is, not my favorite, but they do a really good live show. Also, go check out the Gym Class Heroes set, William joins them for "7 Weeks", its amazing.

I really like the Academy Is... It's just a shame they are on the Fueled By Ramen band wagon... Those bands get a bad wrap for being too poppy and TRL-ready. I think The Academy Is..., This Providence, and Forgive Durden are the exceptions.

Yeah I had thought about going to see Gym Class, but now I definitely am. It's funny because I'm not a fan of hip hop in any way but I absolutely love Gym Class Heroes' style. They're not totally hip hop...but they're not rock either. its strange.

There album had no staying power, meaning, I was bored of the awful lyrics and music by the end of the second listen

I think they are ok. If your in the mood for some polished pop-rock then this hits the spot. No lasting power to their music thought, gets old quickly.

i like the academy is alot... but i will agree that it gets kind of old if you're not in the mood for it.
but, william's voice is great, and they're sound is pretty soothing.
i'm glad to hear they sound good live, i'm seeing them at warped on the 6th.

Very decent band, if they can progress correctly, they could do a lot of good stuff.

They are a good band. My friend recommended them to me and I saw them a few of times one during their headling tour w/ Acceptance and at warped, they played a pretty good set. William moves around the stage and the guitarists move too. The drummer is entertaining too. I think they get the crowd into it.

almost here was a great pop album that still has staying power imo. the ep wasnt anything special. william puts a lot of energy while on stage, but his vocals sound a bit trashed and the music does as well. met them once and they were cool guys. i like their music.

For those of you that had positive things to say about their live show-you were absolutely correct. I saw them yesterday, and I was blown away. William engaged with the crowd, told us to take care of each other, stuff like that. The Butcher even got into talking to the crowd. Not talking, exactly. just making strange noises into the microphone. Anyways, I met them a little while later , and I've met quite a few musicians, but they were by far the nicest and most personal. I shook everybody's hands (except William, he gave me a high-five) Even Adam. and he had his fingers in his mouth. ew. http://tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pxzZ39wV--_ewfqCd7HyGbDo6uoUrtDzVpcaq4zNl0_tx pmInybchVIEP821yawonSUDwyEGqSVhrNro ZCdNOaLPgdn0qEHrfaMLz3XEO29b-6r-YGUh9RD_GekLLHqTcMxQlafcHwsQ

i'm glad to hear they sound good live, i'm seeing them at warped on the 6th. Make sure to go by the Alternative Press tent to see if they're signing. If so, I advise you to get there about an hour early. The line got so long that they cut it before they even started signing.

I still find that the album has staying power. I'd love to hear a new disc though.

we were pretty excited about it when it came out, but since then i just keep it around and listen to it occasionally. it's pretty cute and although it does lack some staying power, the songs don't really grow too boring.

I still find that the album has staying power. I'd love to hear a new disc though. I would definetly love to hear a new album. They played "The Fever", which is a new song they started playing at shows last year. I hope they put it on the album, it was an impressive song to be heard live.

My brother is taking me to a concert when he gets back next year..I can't decide between FOB,
P!ATD, TBS or TAI. FOB and TAI will both have new material by then, but TBS is amazing live and I haven't seen Panic yet. help.

I have seen each of these bands more than once. My favorite by far is TBS. FOB shows were 10x better before they got huge. Last time I saw them (of course, not the band's fault) the crowd consisted of mostly 13 year-old girls with 'I love Pete' shirts. Like it or not, the kids attending usually have some effect on if you enjoy a show. If there's a girl screaming 'marry me patrick' in your ear for the whole show, you're not as likely to enjoy or even be able to focus on the band's performance. I wouldn't suggest seeing them if it's at a big venue. Panic! and TAI... are both great live. Not a huge fan of TAI...'s music but I find Mr. Beckett very entertaining on stage. And Panic! switch things up constantly.
Since you like all of their music, I don't think you'll really regret seeing whoever you chose

Like a lot of (at least more than a few) other people have said: while it's not a genre I listen to very frequently, they are of the better bands to listen to from this style. For instance, if I get in a car with a younger friend and this is in their CD player I wouldn't beg them to turn it off.

thanks for the advice. Since I've seen FOB and TBS more than once, I think I'm going to go with P!ATD or TAI , depending on who's coming through to what venue and how much the tickets are. and who the supporting acts, are of course.

I am totally guessing but the movement of hitting the drums is much like a butcher cutting meat with the meat cleaver.

The only thing I know about The Academy Is is that they cut into Horse the Band's set on Sunday at Warped Tour and that really pissed me off. But whatever, I don't really listen to them so I can't state my opinion on their music really.

In my opinion, they are one of the best live bands you can see.

And you should definitely choose them. FOB live is garbage. Panic! At the Disco live was bad when I saw them (With TAI...). I can't speak for Taking Back Sunday, but personally I'd choose the Academy Is... Their live show is just amazing.

i would have to diagree because fob was not all over that video. the one guy was in it for like 4 seconds. i hate fob but i think that video and song are awesome. i just saw to movie and thought that is was awesome too. the only part of fob is that the bassist was in the vid for 4 seconds and he helped put together the soundtrack.

They were one of the best bands I've ever seen live. They sounded perfectly spot on.

On CD they're good, very solid pop-rock, but most of the songs are pretty similar. They need to step out of the box a little and achieve more variety.

when TAI first got their name out there, i wanted to get into them ... but i didn't for a really long time. i saw them at warped this summer, and i was super-impressed with their live set. so a couple months ago i bought their album, and now i am in love. it's a great album to sing along to, william has such a lovely voice.. and they write very solid music, especially the choruses (chorii. haha..). i also enjoy the guitar parts in certain songs.

He used to be a butcher...he's a vegetarian...people found irony in that, thus the nickname.

Absolutely amazing live. They get better every time I see them, and I still say when I saw them on warped was the best show I've seen, and easily the best at warped [ which is saying something for me, considering Warped '06 was flooding with some of my favorite bands ].

when i first heard them, i saw them as an opening act for motion city/limbeck and their set was horrible. the mic cut out a few times and they just barely finished the set in time. i gave up on them from that point, but then my ex gf introduced them to me and it took me a while to warm up, but it is really nice and catchy indie pop in some of the songs. a few songs i despise, but i give them a pretty good thumbs up. what fun music to listen to.

I love them, they are so good. I mean, I am not saying that they are legendary or anything of the sort, but I approve, I'm a fan.

I was home from college during this summer so I saw them In August at the Warped Tour, and I got to meet them there where they were signing autographs and all, and they were so nice to me, they gave me a high five!

I also went into Manhattan a few times last year to see them, love their music!
