Kazaa will become a legal downloading site after a large series of legal battles. Kazaa must also pay $100 million dollars in damages to the record industry. Read the whole story here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/5220406.stm).

I sure am glad bit torrent is legal. It isn't, if you're downloading copyrighted material.
Download a Linux distro and you're fine, but if you download music, and upload too much of it, you'll most likely get a letter from your ISP warning you.

Limewire kills your computer. No, it doesn't.
The files you download do.
Limewire, as far as I know, has no malware.

I stopped using Kazaa in 9th grade when I was trying to download a porno labeled Jenna Jameson something and it was a video of some dude trying to force a 14 year old to pose naked.

No one really downloads Linux distros with BT.

In other news, people everywhere stop using Kazaa.

I've been using allofmp3 a lot lately. Sure I'm paying for the songs, but it's usually only ~$1 per album and I always seem to get lots of garbage files when downloading from P2P networks. So it's worth the minimal amount of money to preserve my time and sanity.

By that, I mean if I download music, it is with the artist's permission. Other than that, I buy my music.

If you're worried about spyware or ad-supported searches with Limewire, get FrostWire (http://www.frostwire.com/). It's completely open-source and crapware free.

I'm sure you do.

STFU! I download Linux distros with BT. It's hella lot faster than getting off of HTTP or FTP.

Does that make me a nerd? Oh well, who gives a fuck.

Limewire kills your computer.

Haha Yeah... I only use it on my Mac though... It really has no effect on it. I use BitTorrent on my PC.

For every P2P program they shut down or convert to "legal" status, there are 10 more that pop up.

I'm sure you just casually ask bands if you can download their albums for free using bittorrent.

Yea, i think he was talking about the uploading part though, thats was is really the illegal part anyway, the uploading. its when you get caught uploading 60 thousand files and letting your computer act as a server.

the war against piracy is similar to the war against drugs. no matter how hard they try and for how long they fight, it will always be around.
