Parties with kegs in Albany are now classified as ILLEGAL BARS. Well, I've been to these illegal bars. It's a select few who ruin it for everybody. Student relations is a huge problem in the city. I'm so glad the ward where these students for the most part live is represented by a guy who barely understands the relationship. /sarcasm

Hydrofracking is a process that gas companies use to harvest gas from the ground. What they do is they'll drill pipes into the shale, then shoot millions of gallons of water through at high pressures to crack the shale and they'll harness the natural gas. The problem isn't so much the harnessing of the gas, but it's the process itself. Often times these companies will use waste water in the hydrofracking process, and it's very easy for this waste water to pollute underground aquifers, and that has a massive and unbelievable impact when it comes to underground water contamination. Environmentally speaking, it's a travesty.

Roswell politics: Corrupt governor is trying to get back into office, pretends to care about RPD and their pay. My neighbor is running for a seat but was caught as a teen with LSD so people are dwelling on that, even though the person he is running against is on drugs and corrupt. She knows I dont like her. I know how budgeting works. Short-term, yes, you are correct. Long-term, cuts in education lead to people being stupid.

Taxes are the reason why New York is in the fiscal mess it is in. Raising taxes isn't what Paterson is proposing because he knows that will only exacerbate the problem.

Instead, he hurt upstate in other ways by proposing cuts in education, cuts in higher education, and proposed shutting down prisons that provided jobs to small upstate communities along with countless parks that bring money in to the region and are really cheap to keep open. Paterson is one of the worst Governors this state has ever had. That being said, it's not entirely his fault.

I touched on this before, but I think now I'll go into a little more detail:

It's being proposed here in Kanawha County that Charleston annex the unincorporated portions of the county. The proponents of metro government want it so the city can qualify for more federal funds, but I must disagree. Those in unincorporated Kanawha County would become subject to Charleston's taxes, which we don't want since all of it would go towards the urban area, and that's a very small area. I don't live in any municipality (though we're very close to the South Charleston city limits) and I don't want this.

I don't know if it's simply disorganization or what, but the WV Democratic and Republican parties never run good candidates. There are probably twenty or more great Democratic state senators and delegates that could give Capito a run for her money, but no, we have to run elderly nuns from Jefferson County or no-namers from South Charleston. Give me some Corey Palumbo or Tiffany Lawrence up in this bitch.

The same goes for the GOP. This fucker they have running in the 3rd district was a former state supreme court justice and a former Democrat. He's an absolute joke. In fact, the whole West Virginia GOP is a joke. There are no Republicans at a statewide level and only one in congress, yet this is a state that has gone red THREE TIMES IN A ROW. But what do they expect when they run people like John Raese or Jay Woolf? I can't even remember the guy who ran against Manchin in 2008. They need to reform themselves or they'll continue to only win Parkersburg and Putnam County.

The only Democratic Representative from Kootenai County(George Sayler) is retiring. I don't see how the Democrats are going to hold onto that one.

I'm pissed at my Senator(Mike Jorgensen) for introducing a bill to create an internet sales tax and another bill that would make Idaho mirror Arizona's immigration laws. Thankfully corporate interests in southern Idaho have huge sway over the state's GOP, so the second bill got shot down.

I'm thinking I should get my parents to vote for Rich Lindsay over Richie Robb and Erik Wells for the 8th District State Senate Democratic primary election. Rich is only thirty-three years old and is a good progressive. I love Richie Robb to death but he's getting a bit old, though he was the mayor of South Charleston for thirty-six years (most of which as a Republican). I couldn't care less about Erik Wells.
