The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

1. How did you get your band name?
Let's just say I went to the same high school as Jason Vena. Haha. Not really, but kinda. I've always thought Phantoms would be a simple, memorable band name with a plethora of meanings and interpretations.
2. How did this band get started?
I finally succumbed to the realization that it's easier to do everything yourself than try and get other people to do what you want. So I quit my band, bought some recording gear and recorded 15 songs myself, the way I wanted. Musically, I have never been more fulfilled.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
Sunny Day Real Estate, Pedro the Lion, Jimmy Eat World (Clarity), Queen, The Rolling Stones, Taking Back Sunday (up until New Again), Dashboard Confessional (Swiss Army Romance), Whitesnake, Saosin, Nirvana, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Brand New, Thrice, Bon Jovi, and many more.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
Many bands for many reasons. The Rolling Stones and U2 because they are legend and I'd be performing for 50k+ people a night. Thrice, Brand New, and Jimmy Eat World because our sounds would fit well. Sunny Day Real Estate because they are one of my first musical inspirations. Queen because I'd consider going gay for Freddie Mercury. Haha.
5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
A wolf, a bald eagle or a lion. I'm not sure if those are legitimate furries but that's how I would choose to express myself sexually in animal costume form. It would be fun making those animal noises. Although, I would probably have to pre-record the lion's roar from the MGM intro beforehand.
6. Why should people listen to your band?
They should listen to my band if they enjoy something about the music I create. Some people like the lyrics, some like my music, some like my voice, some like it all, some like it not at all.
7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
Probably my song, Take That, Karl Marx. It has the most riffage but it would probably only be one to two stars. I keep it pretty simple.
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
My fans, assuming I have any. Haha. My mom for being such a sweet lady. My managers for helping guide my career and musical path. My bandmates for helping support my dream. My ex-wife and the gunvernment for all the inspiration. ;-)
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
I would change the fact that people don't by music anymore.
10. Memorable tour experience?
My first tour ever, my band and I were going over Mt. Shasta, it was a little snowy but nothing to be too concerned about. Our drummer was terrified and started freaking out, punching himself in the face, telling us all how his life was more important than ours, and started threatening our roadie. It was hilarious but unacceptable, I had to kick him out. I definitely look back and laugh though.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
AP.net is where I go to get the latest gossip and watch people berate one another. I'm terrified to post anything. Haha. It's where I get most of my music news.
12. What is your favorite song to play?
I have a lot of songs written and I've narrowed down my set to my favorites, so it's hard to say. But I guess I really enjoy playing my song, Dust. It's our opener and has a great energy.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
I love Mexico. Sunshine, Mexican food, beer, beaches, spring break jail bait, what's not to love. Haha.
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
Mid to late nineties rap. Haha. I solely listened to rap until my freshman year of high school. Tupac, Biggie, Missy Elliot, TQ, Snoop, sheeeit.
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
The ability to control matter, like Jean Grey. She was a level 5 mutant and could manipulate her surroundings as she saw fit, kind of like Neo from The Matrix. Why? It's simply the best super power. You're basically God.
16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
HAHAHA. No.
17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
I'm divorced and the only things I got out of the marriage are a lot of debt and a fat, orange cat named Umberto. Haha.
18. What's your favorite holiday?
Thanksgiving or Christmas, I suppose. Although I love the 4th of July and Halloween as well. Typical answers. Actually, I'm gonna go with Halloween. Fucking party time.
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Chase women and drink. Haha. Actually most of the time I'm tired from work but I spend a lot of time in the studio and online researching conspiracy theories, I do like to frequent my favorite dives and meet new people though.
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
I'm pretty good at basketball, also I can draw pretty well. Also, I can push my stomach out so that it appears that I am prego. 7-9 months or so...
