Well I didn't end up seeing the Owen Pallett concert, BUT I saw Attack In Black with Dom. I was hoping for a better concert, but found myself wanting more out of them. Dom seemed more disappointed than I was tho.

I consider you as bias as I am toward the vocalist of our choice. I have always thought Kevin had the better vocals, but rarely took lead in dc Talk. As for Mac Powell - this guy just plain has my favourite rock vocals set. If I wasn't picking Mac I might choose Eddie Vedder.

I was the same way - then I really got hooked on the theatrics off it all. He actually sings on "J. City".
Battles is more drum centric and I love strong drumming.

Ha, that's dope. Good luck with that! What long term plans do you have with that?
Not much really haha, just to gain an experience and learn a bit more about the trade, possibly discover some new bands. I can't think of a better way to fill up most my summer. College is after that haha. Given YHF a shot yet?

Looking forward to that!
I also love the random quacking noises.

Most the parts I like so far are the parts that remind me of Battles. Hm.
These parts tend to also be the most immediate, so perhaps the rest will be more enjoyable upon further listening. Do you find the record intriguing as a whole?

I'm going to make a terrible comparison here, just to piss you off. It's like fun. as opposed to The Format. With quacking noises.
The more theatrical sound will take time to appreciate though. But while you wait, I'm sure there's plenty of hot chocolate to go round!

Well, what are you going to school for? Or, in a wording you may, as a senior, appreciate more: What are you going to do with your life?
I listened to a good bit of it today, but it was VERY much so in the background, so that doesn't count.

Nothing pisses me off like a terrible comparison, that's for sure. I do like quacking noises though. Battles prefers to release tension through emerging beats and grooves, whereas Central Market likes to introduce a theme, build tension through an abrasive transition, and then introduce a variation to the original theme. Very different approaches, and I'd argue the latter tends to be more obscure.
Oh, and help yourself to the hot chocolate.

Haha, a question I get all too often. I appreciate that you care though. My plan in college is just to explore and quench as many intellectual curiousities as possible, while discovering on campus, non-academic activities and such. Very vague. A little more in-depth, I'd say I am planning to major in something in the humanities, as that is what I'm most interested in, but I'm keeping my options open.
Is any of my loved music more than background music to you? :-(

In fairness, I adore YHF but there are sometimes where it floats right by you. And sometimes it's trying to break your heart.

Oh, so more like Bedrock? Haa.
I see, that's an interesting interpretation. I will definitely be listening for that.

So, in a nutshell, you don't know, right?
It was only background music because I ended up doing other random things while listening.
