I think it was equally important, if not moreso, that NO sign him before a holdout, then he signs with NO.

Where did I say it was the first thing they needed? All I said is that the city needed this, Bush has created a sense of excitement in NO and for the team to not sign him would have been a blow the city's spirits.

if you don't think sports are a vital part of moving past such a tragedy then you're just fooling yourself and may want to leave the forum or something.

Sports have a way of making people happy and forget about their worries for a while. Reggie Bush isn't going to save the city, I never said that, you are taking everything out of context.

You were making it seem as if all was recoverd down there and everything was back to normal except for a cloud of distress in the air. Shit is still a huge mess down there, a year later.

I guess Reggie Bush will help those lucky enough to have enough money to enjoy him.

No shit, but imagine how down the citizens would have been if Reggie Bush didn't come to play in NO. Yes, I know sports is not a life changing thing, but to some it means a lot. Yes, the city is still a mess, but hopefully for 4 hours every Sunday Reggie Bush can give NO residents a sense of normalcy.

Well, Bush has already donated a lot of money and time to rebuilding the city as well.

I know the Mike Piazza sucks and shit will come after this but...

The first baseball game in NY after 9/11 was Mets vs. Braves, Piazza hit the big two run HR that gave us the lead and the win. I never forgot how when that happened, everyone seemed to forget about 9/11 for a whole day.

There are 300,000 displaced former residents who lost EVERYTHING that got shipped to Texas shelters. That's more then half of the city's population at the time. I don't think they get Saints games in Texas.

I just took him as my #3 RB in my fantasy draft, so this puts a smile on my face.

yeah. because they're totally not going to put reggie bush on national TV or anything. especially if the team does pretty well.
