it's actually way faster with out a keyboard. With "T9" the words just pop up after only a few letters

It depends what phone he has. I have the LG phone from verizon that opens up into a keyboard and I could easily have done that in that time. Glad they told us what phone it was. :unsure:

what if you are in a quiet place where you really cant talk out loud? or if you are in a loud bar/concert/etc...? then it's good.
