Was thinking about this when I saw my buddy wearing a Milton Bradley Cubs jersey. What are some jersey that you have seen that made you wonder why they would buy that? Worst I've seen is Cade McNown, Rex Grossman, Terry Mulholland, Neifi Perez, Curtis Enis.

I'd say a Randal Gay jersey would suck. Just any jersey that says "Gay" on the back kinda sucks....and on that note, can we applaud the Portland Trailblazer's Travis Outlaw. How sick is that?!

Rudy Gay, great player but on the front it says "Grizzlies" and on the back it says "Gay."
even if i were a Memphis fan, I would not be wearing that.

We just need Mike Vick and T.O... OH WAIT, NO WE DON"T!
Andy Young
03/04/10, 01:23 PM
No thanks on Vick. But I really wouldn't mind having T.O. I mean he put up decent numbers last year with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing him the ball I'm sure he could be a 1,000 yard receiver with Carson. Plus him and Chad are really close so I wouldn't really be worried with his typical attitude issues of the past.

Tino had 36 HRs and 144 RBIs and went .265/.335/.434/.778 in STL
his career was .271/.344/.471/.815 sooo i dont know what more you could've expected out of a 34/35 year old first baseman

those stats were over 2 seasons, that comes to an average of 18hr,70rbi, not what we paid him for.

he hit .280 the year before he went to STL and had 34 HRs and 113 RBI so i dont know what youre looking at...
his OBP was actually better in STL than it was in hi slast year in NY
if youre expecting a 35 year old 1st baseman to carry your team, youre screwed anyways

look at what ryan ludwick did at 34, 37 hr, 113rbi,.299. those are great stats at that age. tino didnt put half of that up and was almost as UNclutch as jim edmonds was as a cardinal in his later years.

Your a fool if you got excited about a 34/35 year old first baseman coming to St Louis at the tail end of his career.
You also have his average 45 points higher than it was.
Plus he was on the one of the greatest baseball teams of all time which makes it easier to hit, the 2002 cardinals just weren't on the yankees of the late 90's level whatsoever.
Tino was great to call him a waste is just dumb.

Not to be insensitive, but I hate when teams wear pink jerseys in support of Breast Cancer. Great cause, but I don't really see the pink jerseys doing much difference than a ribbon painted on the court/field.

Yeah, but wearing them every other game is a bit overkill. Wearing them for a month is valid means of support, and there are much better ways to spread the word than to wear jerseys of the color.

I've seen women's college basketball games throughout the year wearing pink jerseys almost as a 3rd, particularly Texas from what I remember. Every other game is an obvious exaggeration, but they've certainly worn them outside of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Point being that it can still be overkill. I understand women raising awareness, but I think it makes more of a special sort of thing if they only do it a few games here and there. If the teams want to put something in each booklet that's given out at games to raise money, or make announcements over the loudspeaker, or even ask fans to donate/give portions of ticket sales to breast cancer, I'd like to think that'd be more retroactive.

There was a guy at my school who would wear a Cheifs Joe Montana jersey. Why? I love Montana but I have this thing where you shouldn't wear a jersey of a player on a team where he didn't make a name for himself. i.e. No jordan wizards jerseys, Oakland rice jerseys, cardinals emmitt smith jersey, etc.

Plus, it was a throwback to an original jersey from the 60's, only our colors were light and navy blue back then.
The Pens are getting rid of these jerseys as thirds:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fAS1bic9ja4/SRUjem_HYvI/AAAAAAAAAEI/1iNYsOOcnx8/s320/pens3rd.jpg
They're apparently getting new thirds for the new arena. I'd like to see them get all new jerseys for the new arena, though. Possibly, dare I say, a gold third, if there's any way they could make it "un tacky" and not fail as badly as both the Bruins and Predators did with theirs. I'm thinking it could be done of the gold isn't the whole jersey, and the black plays an integral role in the color scheme. Or, they could keep going with the classic jerseys, and bring back these:

Absolutely. So classic, both of them. I also love the Maple Leafs white, too; though I like the blue better. Ever since they made the jerseys "Rbk EDGE" or whatever, the Maple Leafs jerseys suffered a bit since they have a classic design with a cutting edge look. The EDGE design works for teams with modern jerseys (Nashville, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, etc.) but not so much for teams with classic ones.
