I had tickets to see Fear Before/The Number 12../Heavy Heavy.., but instead I drove an hour east to pay $5 to see Trophy Scars play in what used to be a bagel shop. Needless to say, the show was extremely small and low budget. I was the first to arrive, and the kids who booked the show thought I was in the band. Also, the PA system was still nowhere to be found.

Fast forward an hour, the band has arrived and there are twice as many people inside as I thought there would be, and there were half as many people there to see Trophy Scars than I thought would be. Actually, it was me and two other guys. The 50 other kids were there because it was a friday night and it was a show. Talking to Jerry Jones outside, he said they would be playing about 7 songs, old and new.

After the first band (comprised of 4 members all under 17 trying their hardest to sound like The Fall of Troy) finished, Trophy Scars comes on. There is no stage since it's a bagel shop. Also, the PA was shit.

Anyhow, the set list went like this:

- Jerry's The Name, Sociology's The Game
- An Introduction. All Introductions.
- Artist. Artists.
- Assistant. Assistants.
- Alchemist. Alchemists.
- Sleep Little Nemo

The band was tight and Jerry was intense. After the show, I talked with Jerry and he was extremely friendly. Over all, this show made my year. Trophy Scars is perhaps my favourite band and I took some really nice performance shots. I would still skip Fear Before and even drive an extra hour to see them play again.
