Yet another great band that I thought would be quite popular on here which doesn't have an official thread.
Antidotes was great; can't wait for the new record.

i love foals. their style has something about it that just gets at me. so good.
antidotes inspired me to paint and live life happily. until now. in neeeed of their new album. can't wait (:

Their first album was decent, but after their new single I'm seriously anticipating the new album.
Not a fan, sorry. I think I find them too generic.

That's cool. If there weren't differentiating opinions this wouldn't be a music forum.
In my opinion though, Foals aren't generic at all. How do they come across that way to you?

Just to make it clear, I don't hate them or regard them as an awful band. I understand why people like them and they're decent musicians. With the disclaimer out of the way, their main weakness for me was always the vocals. I'm just not that big a fan of that style of singing. And pretty much every indie-rock band vocalist in the UK has that kind of vocal styling. It really doesn't endear them to me. They always struck me as an inferior Bloc Party. That comparison has it's flaws but the two do sound very similar at times. And I'd always choose Bloc Party over Foals.

Foals is awesome, you should check out their live videos on Jools Holland's show. Amazing, plus, the lead singer looks like Prince! Either way, their new album should be good.
They're from my town, I have seen them in the centre a few times. I went to get my ticket today actually but apparently they're not released yet. I saw them supporting Bloc Party last year and imo Foals > Bloc; looking forward to the new album.

I love Foals. Antidotes is one the albums I have to listen to all the way through if one song comes up on shuffle or something. I love how the music feels like it surrounds your whole body, it's so relaxing. The new song is amazing, and it sounds like the new album is going to have a more Olympic Airwaves kind of sound.
