don't wanna be that douche, but Henry Selick directed Nightmare Before Christmas. he also did James and the Giant Peach and Coraline. Burton did produce Nightmare and Peach though.

Enjoyed Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish, and appreciate Batman, but I'm just not a huge fan of Tim Burton. I might end up seeing it, but not in 3D.

Low expectations. Probably rent it when it goes to DVD.

Edit: I don't know why I said that. I haven't rented a film in about 10 years. I'll be downloading this.

I saw it in 3D and I enjoyed it, but I didn't also see it in not 3D so I can't compare it.

Probably not honestly. The more I hear about it and the more previews I see, the less excited I become.

Saw it, he fucked it up. Just like he fucked up Planet of the Apes. And Willy Wonka.

Like a lot of movies coming out now in 3-D, this movie wasn't shot in 3-D so I don't believe it'll make much difference. When they recently released the two Toy Story movies in theaters, I saw both in 3-D and it was just the poorest thing ever. The 3-D was pointless.

But beyond that, this just looks like Burton ruining another story to appeal to Gothic tweens.

I'd like to, but I never get to the movies. I've always liked the story of Alice In Wonderland so I'm pretty intrigued in what they've done with it this time around. And Johnny Depp is always pretty good.

Yeah, but mostly because it's a Tim Burton film, and I try and see any of his movies.. they usually end up at least being interesting.

Saw it in 3d, and it's good but not necessary to enjoy it. Parts of the movie moved way to fast to even appreciate the 3D. Movies like this weren't made with 3D in mind, like Avatar or the upcoming Tron Legacy, the 3D in Alice was an afterthought. So it's not essential to see it that way. I say save yourself the 5 bucks, or whatever the price increase is in your area, and see it regularly

I enjoyed it, but it's not in the same realm as Ed Wood, Batman, or Beetlejuice, but it's not dreadful like Planet of Apes or Willy wonka. Somewhere in the middle ground.

the Cheshire Cat was awesome.

And don't forget, it's a sequel, not a remake. I'm glad i knew that going into it otherwise I would have hated it.

What's with everyone hating on Burton's Willy Wonka? I thought it was awesome... much better than the musical version...

RiCCioLi
03/15/10, 05:12 PM
absolutely not. Burton has sucked and just keeps doing the same basic stuff with his films. Depp hasnt been good since Blow. A high quality leak came out and i wont even watch that
