At least the first festival has Hey Monday, which is a fun band. I've also heard good things about Foxy Shazam's live show (though I've never heard anything of theirs, so don't know if I'd actually enjoy their set). So, if I had to be dragged to one of these, it'd be the former before the latter.

wow. out of both line ups combined, i only like one band, and thats foxy shazam. and even then they're just a band i kind of enjoy. they do put on a good show though. but damn, i can't comprehend the suck going on at south by so what. some of the worst "heavy" bands in music today. i hope dr. pepper center or whatever burns down while that thing is going on.

Just out of curiosity, and I'm sorry if you take offense to this question, but what makes Hey Monday any more mundane than any of those bands you have listed on your profile? It's all vapid pop rock music with catchy choruses.

I mean, that's not an insult or anything, at least not intentionally. I like pop music as well. Heck, I have a Selena Gomez avatar. Just wondering.
