About 2 weeks ago, my band entered the studio, but afterward I took somewhat of a break (about a full week) from not playing drums. After this, to be blunt my double bass and my feet in general just feel worse than they ever have been. my drums were tuned, and my throne is the same height so i doubt its a technical issue, but im just very frustrated. I'm doing calf excersizes but they dont seem to be working ( i leg press 250). my feet also seem to come too high off the pedal when im playing, which may be another problem. anybody seem to have a remedy for this? much appreciated

Sit down with a click and start at around 120bpm playing straight 8ths and work it up from there gradually on the met.

Sounds good. I've had the same happen a ton before, and it's really bad when you go to practice songs you nailed before and then you whiff it like it's the hardest thing and you sit there and say "but I WROTE this!", haha. I discovered that that does an incredible job of tuning your legs to drumming and keeping them warm for a practice.

It's pretty common, and also why I warm up with basic exercises before playing or practicing.

u shouldpractice every day, at least for lk a half hour. if u cant have time to practice on your actual drumset, just take ur sticks and drum on your legs. thats what i do and i havent felt the way you described in a long time
I actually play much better after I take extended breaks from it lol; my friend who has drummed since high school like me, has always told me the same thing. I actually do that on purpose sometimes when it feels like my drumming is getting a little stale.
I know that doesn't address your problem, I just find it interesting.
