I've always been interested in theoretical physics. More specifically, subjects like m theory, multi-dimensional theories, and the strange world of quantum physics. The reason? These are the things were gonna see in the future. Advanced technologies may revolve around many of these ideas. For example: According to Moore's law, conventional computers are gonna "max out" in 10-15 years. So what's next? Well, really ridiculously smart people are studying something called "quantum computers". Binary computers use 1's and 0's on a read-write device to do all their work. Quantum computers on the other hand, read the spin of subatomic particles, to translate into 1's and 0's. So what's the difference? Due to a strange characteristic in quantum physics, that particle can be spinning in both directions at once. This is called superposition. So instead of being able to just read a 1 or 0 at a time, it can do both at the same time. It may not seem like much, but this will make your computers EXTREMELY fast. Anyways, I made this thread for anyone who wants to discuss anything involving theoretical physics, because I love talking about it and learning about it. Put any cool things or ideas you know about it or anything else like that.
