The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:
The Riot

1. How did you get your band name?
The Riot actually started as a solo project by our lead singer/guitar player Ryan Riot. Eventually he found us to help him play his music live. So we just kinda stole his name to use for our band.
2. How did this band get started?
We got our start when Ryan Riot came looking for musicians that had thesame drive and love for music that he did. Now we all live together in Central PA.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
The one band we can all agree that influences us most is Jimmy Eat World. Others include, Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, Anberlin, Rise Against, and Jawbreaker.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
We would love to tour with any of the bands that have influenced us. We've played with Four Year Strong a few times now and those guys are the nicest guys you'll ever meet so it would be rad to go out on tour with them.
5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
A skunk would be great because then you could say "hey, i'm a skunk! what did you expect?" or a badger might be fun because you would look all cuddly but can get down to business.
6. Why should people listen to your band?
We are a hard working band that tries to respond to all of our friends/fans on a daily basis. If you enjoy good pop-punk/rock then you
should check us out.
7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
We would choose our song "new Sheriff" and the leads could be a a bit tricky for beginners. if you play at an expert level you should be able to just rock it and enjoy.
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
I guess you're supposed to thank God huh? but we'd probably end up thanking taco bell for their new 89 cent 5 layer burritos. We live off of those. Really.
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
The music industry HAS changed. With home studios and the internet any band can get their music out there for people to hear. That really levels the playing field.
10. Memorable tour experience?
Back in the days where we didn't have a van we had to take 2 cars to every show(2 of us in each tightly packed car). We were nearly out of gas so Brad our bass player writes "NEED GAS?" legibly on his own butt cheeks and continues to moon the boys in the other car until they finally were able to disregard his butt and realize what it actually said. We then stopped to get gas.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
It's where we go to read reviews and interviews from bands that we play shows with and are influenced by. It's also a great place to check out up and coming music.
12. What is your favorite song to play?
Our favorite song to play is off of our newest CD SITTING DUCK SYNDROME called "Now You See Me". It draws a kind of energy out of us that reminds us that this is why we do what we do. We also play a ton of acoustic shows every year. Most of our songs were written on acoustic guitars so it's nice to bring back the singer/songwriter feel and create a more chilled out atmosphere.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
When we have free time, a vacation to us is being able to spend time with the people we love. It also would include catching up on some sleep. We visit a lot of places but the place we want to go to relax is our home.
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
The theme song from Ren and Stimpy always reminds of us those innocent days of our youth. It's also awesome to see that bands that we grew up listening to (ex. NOFX, Bad Religion) are still touring and playing shows. There is nothing cooler than playing a show with bands you have idolized since you were kids.
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Invisibility would be cool. We've never seen an invisible band and I'm pretty sure that would blow some peoples minds. It would be like a surprise attack of ROCK! Or Darth Vader's mind control. The whole "these aren't the droids you're looking for" bit.
16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
We are stoked with how things are going, but we are far from "made it." Our main goal is to put our music in our fans hands and heads and let them decide if they like it or not. That seems to be working out just fine for us so far.
17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
Most fans don't know that we all live together even when we're not on tour. And I'm pretty sure it's still a secret that Paul is a Professional Miniature Golfer and has won countless awards and gold plated plaques.
18. What's your favorite holiday?
Halloween for sure. We try to play a Halloween show every year just so we can dress up in costumes and look ridiculous on stage. The only problem is that sweat and costumes don't mix well.
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time for us is spent connecting with our fans and friends and reaching out to new people all over the place. We are very DIY and so much of our downtime is concentrated in front of a computer screen or preparing for upcoming tours and shows.
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
I triple dog dare anyone to take us on in MarioKart (64 or gamecube). This is no joke and we'll gladly accept any challenge. Also, Ryan has mastered the art of sleeping less than 5 hours a night so we always get to our destination safe.
