I'm kinda excited, just hope its better than Crow to the left of the murder.

Morning View, that was an amazing album.

The official website says fifth album, but the MTV article says sixth. I guess the official site isn't counting Fungus Amongus as a "studio album"

FUCK YES! I love Incubus...I own all of their albums, two singles, and Alive at Red Rocks. Also went to their ACLOTM tour a couple years ago which happened to coincide with my birthday...anyway, I absolutely cannot wait to year songs from this.

I've actually been wondering what happend to them lately...

I hope it's as good as Make Yourself.

that fucking hack chris harris needs to get his info straight. the lineup he lists as the band is not even close. it's dj kilmore now and dj lyfe hasn't been in the band since like '98 and alex katunich aka dirk lance left before ACLOTM and has long since been replaced by ben kenney

it also has DJ Lyfe and Alex listed as band members (Lyfe was kicked out before SCIENCE and Alex before ACLTM) and November 20th is a monday....whoever wrote this didnt really do their research.

I'm a big Incubus fan. ACLOTM was really different and I liked it a lot. I just didn't like the songs they did for the Stealth soundtrack. I hope this album is as good as I'm hoping it will be.

Yeah I like pretty much every incubus album there is so I don't see why they would let me down now...this is going to be exciting.

Oh for those who don't know, the following is set in stone: Make Yourself > Morning View > S.C.I.E.N.C.E > A Crow... > Fungus . haha just kidding, just kidding. This could go several different ways but hopefully the new one smashes everything. :D

Fungus was more a compliation of all their early material re-recorded so I think it doesn't actually count.

SCIENCE was their first true true studio album.

On another note, ACLOTM was a really terrific album after a few listens. It defintly took some time to grow on me though. Incubus was the reason I started listening to good music in the first place and they are still one of my favorite bands to this day. I hope this album lives up their usually awesomeness.

finally, imo,

every song was pure radio-rock. nothing amazing

it would be really cool if they could make another album with the same energy present on fungus amongus and science, but it just isn't gonna happen.

I strongly agree with both of your posts. What made morning view so good was Kilmore.

im sorry, but the lyrics in 'crow..' were certainly lacking. which is why its one of my least favorites. brandon has an amazing knack for painting a picture with words, and i felt like he didnt perform to the best of his ability. 'megalomaniac' would be the only exception, but it kind of caught me off guard to hear a band like them take a stab at the political side of music.
but i must admit. 'sick sad little world' (on 'crow..') was a fucking masterpiece, in which mikey FINALLY got to show his 'guitar god' status and show the listeners that he is a very inventive guitar player and one of the best playing today.
and the fact that they kicked out dirk really made me lose intrerest, since he was the main reason i started playing bass / listening to this band. ben is a valuable asset to this band though, throwing in background vocals that mikey couldnt pull off live, and adding a different element to their musical style.
'science' has and will always be their best album. partly, cause it reminds me of when i first started getting into music. it was serious, but it also showcased their comical side with songs like 'calgone' and the secret song 'jose loves kate moss'. 'make yourself' was fucking brilliant, no complaints. 'morning view' displayed well rounded songs, and it also marked a change in their sound from an alternitive rock band to pop rock, which is not a bad thing. again, 'crow..' was really a hodgepodge of musicial stylings, which is why it appealed to a wide variety of listeners.
and whoever said kilmore needs to leave because their sound has changed, is correct. although, i see him doing more programming, etc. on this album than 'turntabling' (sp?).

sorry, im a huge fan.

i cant wait for this album.
hopefully, it wont disappoint.

oh, and i know its been said about three times now, but id also like to add that whoever wrote that artical is a fucking idiot for naming dirk and dj lyfe as band members.
fucking travesty.

Mike and Brandon are both badasses, but, Dirk's departure was the end of Incubus as we knew it. This new band is a new band that still goes by the name "Incubus". Not to say that they're not a good band, but, as far as being Incubus, the sound they brought on the majority of ACLOTM is an insult to their first four albums.

I'm not going into this album closed-minded, because, hey, I liked ACLOTM alright. It's not the best thing ever, but, it's enjoyable every once-in-a-while. I see it as this: The guys have had a chance to play with Ben now for about three years, and, I'm hoping they've developed something a lot more cohesive and either venture back towards Make Yourself area, and just experiment from there, or else go off in a completely different direction from what they did on "Crow...", because, it's gonna get old QUICK if they don't.

are they releasing this on immortal?

Two new songs are on YouTube. One is a sick live performance of "Earth to Bella." Sounds like Morning View to me, kids. Awesome. Whatever they release, I know they've worked so hard on. I will like anything they release.

also, people don't give enough credit to ACLOTM.

it's seriously a great album, it just takes MANY listens to realize how truly awesome it is. at first I thought it was sub-par too, especially for Incubus, but just be patient and it will eventually hit you when you leaasttt expecttt itttt wahahah

God Im excited for this.

And I adore Crow, I cant wrap my head around how many people say its their worst effort, the instrumentals alone make it a top notch album.
