I'm a few weeks late on this one, but I finally got around to writing down my thoughts on the debut album, Way Back Home, from Montreal, Quebec's One Night Band (http://www.myspace.com/theonenightband). You can check out the review for yourself right here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=159077). The album is available in stores now via Stomp Records.
haha aww these guys rock.
i love it how you post news about the smallest ska bands from up north.
anyways i've seen these guys live a million times and i really like 'em.
i didn't even know they had an ablum out - i gotta check it out at their next show.
keep posting the ska and keep posting the canadian news!

Thanks alot. :)
I just do my best to post about what I feel deserves to be in the spotlight, and the One Night Band happen to fall into that category. Haha.
so umm, are you going to post about the demise of makeshift heroes and buda funk munk?
or the signing of the donuts to stomp, as well as their name change?
juuuuust curious!

Wow. News to me. But, thanks for the heads up.
I check the 4th Wave webzine often, but I must have missed this. I knew about The Johnstones signing to Stomp, which I am extremely excited about, but I had no idea The Expos signed as well.
the j-stones are ridiculous.
so are the donuts.
and it's such a shame that the makeshift heroes are breaking up; they were my favourite local ska band forever... that will be a show not to miss!

I completely agree. I only saw The Makeshift Heroes once. It was a long time ago in Oshawa at The Dungeon, but they put on a fantastic show.
