View Full Version : Lymph Node

Today I went to the doctor because of an ear infection, she told me that because it's so bad in my one ear my lymph node is swelling. Has anybody ever had this before when they have an ear infection? Does it get any larger over time of treatment?
Is there even a way to get the swelling to go down, or do I just have to wait for the ear to heal?

I ask these questions because the node hurts when I turn my head a certain degree and I want to speed up the healing process.

Thanks in advance :)

Just take what the doctor prescribed you for your ear infection, your lymph node will shrink once the infections gone.

As a baby I almost died from an ear infection and lost hearing in both of my ears, there was a movie based on my dad called Mr Holland's Opus. I'd be pretty worried.

You shouldn't google medical stuff since you wind up thinking you're gonna die since apparently a headache and nausea is a result of every disease, I mean do I have allergies or an aneurysm

I get these frequently each year, and it sucks. My doctor prescribes me ear drops and I take tylenol. It helps to put an ice pack on the node and try not to move your head as much.. even though that's impossible. It shouldn't take too long to heal, it just depends on how severe the ear infection is. I know your pain and I hope you don't have to suffer long!

Yeah my doctor loaded me up on this cream and pills.
I have to clean my ear three times a day and take the pill three times a day. It's tedious but it's only for ten days.

I've had one that lasted for a month, so ten days sound like nothing. How exactly do you plan to clean your ears?

She gave me a process, I have to dab them with Hydrogen Peroxide, then put cream on them after they dry, then take a pill. That goes on for ten days three times a day.

I do beleive I've had this before. The back of my ear was in blistering pain and all swollen up for about a week. Had to get antibiotics and supposedly if you don't get it taken care of it's quite dangerous.

Dude I had a swollen lymph node for two weeks. Went to the doctor, they tested me for "Cat Scratch Fever." (Go ahead, insert all jokes here). Got my blood work back, my liver and spleen functions were sky high. Turns out I have mono. Bye bye spring break..

Mono SUCKS, I had it over the summer two years ago.

Yeah my doctor told me if I didn't come in when I did it would've started fucking around with my liver.

It's more my ear lobe then the ear itself.
