Hawthorne Heights (http://www.absolutepunk.net/hawthorneheights) is asking for submissions to create their next video.
"Do you want to participate in a social experiment to see just how awesome Hawthorne Heights fans really are? Who knows? If we get enough awesome video of everyone rocking out, dancing, partying, fightinig, lip syncing and more to Pens And Needles, this video might even make it onto television and SO WILL YOU!

Yeah MCR, Fall Out Boy, Silverstein, Panic At The Disco, Aiden, Avengend Sevenfold, and the list goes on and on, but Hawthorne Heights tops the list of utter waste of time and space bands.

When I was younger, about ten years ago, my friends and I would take 1000s (seriously, no exaggeration) of AOL free trial CDs and then cause stupid havok. I was probably only in grade school, but we'd have good times just covering the lawns of people we didn't like. Imagine the look on your face when you open your door and there's seriously 1000 AOL cds all over your lawn.
I would want to do something like that, but with HH albums. It would be much, much scarier. Alas, I'd have to actually buy the album, though.. :shudder:

what are you talking about... those bands are semi talented... but hawthorne heights.... fuck man... its not about scene cred... its about genuine lack of musical talent.. hawthorne heights are such bullshit. them being an uncool band has nothing to do with it. hell... fall out boy are uncool these days... but i will freely admit to liking them... i don't give a shit what some stupid elitest kid on the internet thinks about me ... but with hawthorne heights... they are just bad.... how can you have 3 people playing guitar and still manage to have the most simplistic generic riffs ever... and don't even get me started on the lyrics.

Absolutely not. While the three bands you cited may not be the most talented or most enjoyable, none of them have flagrantly disregarded humanity with lines such as "So cut my wrists and black my eyes" or with anything like that whole "Save Rock Music and defeat Ne-yo" bull shit.

But they're very good (in the case of MCR and TBS, anyway). Are they Thursday? Are they Thrice? No, but they are certainly better than 90% of what you'll hear on the radio anyway.

oh i'm sorry! were comments like "put HH cds in the microwave and nuke them!" or "wipe my ass with a HH cd" part of the engaging conversation that you somehow saw? this isn't a debate. this isn't civilized discourse. this is people just shit-talking a band because they aren't cool enough. i'm calling out people on the hypocrisy of their statements. anyone with any musical abilities could easily point out the similarities between lyrics, song structures, instrumentation, and overall genre appeal between HH and all of the bands i mentioned. the only difference is that TBS is "cool". so did i alienate anybody? yes, probably. but the bigger question is do i care if i alienated fickle scenesters, more concerned about their cred and shit-talking on the internet? and my answer would be no.
but yeah, way to try to spread the message of peace and positivity on the ass-wiping comments of a HH thread. sorry to be such a negative nancy. dick.

These cats don't deserve so much personal hate. They seem like generally nice people. Musically, I would never recommend them, but some people go way too far. (Mind you, I don't listen to over half of the music you folks gush over.)

FOB is REALLY starting to get on my last nerve...
Thursday is... meh...
And Thrice is great, but nowhere near the "cream of the crop" of this "scene" that no-one's supposed to buy into... Someone let me know, is it COOL or UNCOOL now, to be in the "scene"??? It seems to change so much I can't keep track (nor do I really give a fuck :-p)
