Of course they're no Oasis in their jackassery, but its always been my personal opinion that the lead singer, Thom Yorke, seems to be way too into himself. Of course i realize Lacey (or Accardi) could have the same thing said about them, and i would agree. For whatever reason they don't bother me like Yorke.

Radiohead was a big influence on me long before Brand New. I remember watching the video for Paranoid Android when it first came out and being enthralled by it. And nothing that Brand New has done can compare to OK Computer. I do love Brand New as well, but it's a no brainer that Radiohead is by far the better of the two.

Radiohead, except perhaps lyrically. I enjoy Jesse Lacey's emo musings on 21st century adolescent suburban life. Thom's lyrics are often nonsensical and always very depressing.

But Thom Yorke is a better singer, Radiohead is way more creative, way more talented musically, way more influential, and way more important to musical history. The fact that Brand New is winning just means that no one who voted for Brand New has actually listened to Radiohead.

However, given the fact that Radiohead has more than four albums, they have a wider selection of songs to "like" or "dislike," so, therefore, I'm able to like a greater number of Radiohead songs than I am Brand New songs.

But what are the odds of that.. Odds are if I casually like 3/4ths of a band's discography, I'm going to "love" a good amount of their music. And, Brand New put out Daisy, which would make their ratio of good songs to bad songs 'sink,' pun intended.

I voted Brand New because they have more plays on my last.fm than Radiohead. But I love both bands. Radiohead fans, you've just come across as pretentious in this thread. Believe it or not, people might not like music simply because you do.

I personally like both bands because each band seems to try to completely (or at least partially) change their sound on each album, rather than just making the same album over and over. I appreciate Radiohead as being the more talented band technically in every way, you can't even compare the two. Does that make Radiohead the better band? The fact that the question was "Brand New or Radiohead?" doesn't really explain what "better" would mean. So get off all your high horses and accept the fact that people might prefer bands different than those that you prefer.
