View Full Version : Eminem and Lil Wayne

Eminem and Lil Wayne recorded a song together which it bothers me because I was kinda hoping Eminem disliked Lill Wayne as much as I do.
Anyone agree with me? Anyone agree that Lil Wayne is not worthy enough of rapping side by side with Eminem?
Eminem is one of the 3 rappers I listen to.

Eminem's still the best with words and rhyming, in my opinion. I'll never like another rapper as much as him. I bet his next album's better than Relapse, which I still think was pretty good.

Eminem is good and all don't get me wrong but if he's one of only three maybe you should try listening to some more rap. Recommend Big L, Big Pun circa Capital Punishment, and a lot more but start with them.

Em's still got it. His verse on Drop the World was sick. Music Box is a great dis track. He just needs to lose that retarded accent and he'll be fine.
Lil Wayne needs to lose the auto-tune and the I think I can be a rock star mentality and go back to what he's good at.

It's ridiculous that it's even a comparison. Eminem is SO much better than any rapper. His latest albums may have lacked in subject matter but as far as rapping ability no one even comes close. It's almost embarrassing when he's on a track with other rappers because he is so much better. Everyone says how he sucks now but I think that's mainly due to the fact that his subject matter isn't original anymore. That doesn't seem to matter for other rappers who constantly rap about the same crap.

Here's the thing about Eminem. All of his solo songs as of recent years have blown, but when he's featured on a song he goes banana's. It's like he only raps good to try and make other people look bad. Take forever for example:
eDuRoPIOBjE
Everyone is rapping one way then he comes in and just decides to rap as fast as he possibly can and everyone says he's great.
if he had done the same verse at the same speed as the rest of everyone else people would be able to realize that his verse is straight garbage.
in closing, don't have eminem on your track unless you want him to try too hard to make you look shitty.

writing lyrics and rapping do not = the same thing. I don't even dislike eminem, i dislike that you think he's the greatest rapper ever because you don't listen to very much hip hop, and catch feelings when someone says otherwise.

I'll give you that Carter III was better than Em's post 2000 work. That is Wayne's only complete album that has been any good. He has a lot of single songs that are awesome but his other albums are nothing compared to Carter III from start to finish. The man makes so many mix tapes its like he has 1 good song for every 10 he makes.
Kanye is a joke and its too early to tell if Drake will be any good.

Kanye's music is complete garbage. IMO. I understand some people like it but not me. It's beyond ridiculous that you think Drake is making better music than Eminem. No ceilings was one of Wayne's better mixtapes but it also had a lot of awful tracks, just like the millions he makes. Actually it's a very good argument. It means that a huge number of people believe that it is the best album of the year. Do I agree? No. The fact that you or I don't agree with it doesn't take away the fact that they won that very prestigious award. What argument have you made? Oh yeah that's right you just stated your opinion. :hitself: at the bulk of the thread (namely golferpunk1).
Eminem isn't a washed-up artist. He just put out ONE medicore record last year, which still had enough bright spots (coupled with that diss track to Mariah/Nick, as well as his verses on Forever, Drop the World, and Psycho) on it to show that, while it doesn't make up for it still being substandard, he proved he isn't TOO big for his britches, and that there's still a great chance that he come correct yet again. He even explained in an awesome interview with Complex (http://www.complex.com/CELEBRITIES/Cover-Story/Eminem) that when making R1, he was still trying to get the juices flowing, essentially being in the "crawling stage". And now he's flipped the page and decided to move towards more emotionally-driven stuff for Relapse 2, (possibly more songs in the vein of Beautiful, Deja Vu, Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, and the majority of The Eminem Show, for all I know).
For now, I'm just going to wait and for what Em brings to the table with R2. But I'd also argue that it's pretty irrational to claim he'll never put out more good material again.

Both of their latest albums sucked. Lil' Wayne is the most overrated person in rap today.
*Edit - But you can usually count on Eminem to release good material. Too bad Relapse was (mostly) a miss.

haha it's not a good argument at all. The Grammy's are a joke. Are you going to tell me that Relapse is as good as Marshall Mathers LP since both won Best Rap Album? The beats, his flow, and the lyrics are all better on Tha Carter II.
That's your opinion man.
I enjoy both and think it's awesome they have some songs together.

Can we get Craig to make an I Hate Lil Wayne (Official Thread) so this nonsense can all end up in the same place when it pops up every other week?

When Relapse 2 comes out people are gonna be like fuck Eminem is back. This shit's gonna be sweet I don't care what anyone else thinks.

It'll most likely be an improvement over Relapse 1, but I don't know if he'll necessarily redeem his last two albums. Like I said, we'll have to wait and see. Regardless, even despite my disappointment with R1, it's still really awesome that Em just rose from the dead and became one of the hotter current MCs right now. No matter what MTV says.

Yeah, I was about to say this as well.
I don't get how one album, which wasn't entirely terrible, automatically makes Eminem terrible. So all of his old, fantastic works automatically disappear?

It's ridiculous that it's even a comparison. Eminem is SO much better than any rapper. His latest albums may have lacked in subject matter but as far as rapping ability no one even comes close. It's almost embarrassing when he's on a track with other rappers because he is so much better. Everyone says how he sucks now but I think that's mainly due to the fact that his subject matter isn't original anymore. That doesn't seem to matter for other rappers who constantly rap about the same crap.

Kanye's music is complete garbage. IMO. I understand some people like it but not me. It's beyond ridiculous that you think Drake is making better music than Eminem. No ceilings was one of Wayne's better mixtapes but it also had a lot of awful tracks, just like the millions he makes. He hasn't made a great mixtape since Drought 3 and even that one could be cut in half with all the throw away tracks.
There's a reason no one takes you seriously.

Seriously. I just wish people were more open-minded about Eminem and the mark he's made. He shouldn't be written off completely just because his last two albums weren't that hot.

I totally agree. And he's shown signs that he's still got it as much as he ever has. His verses on forever and drop the world are really good.

yes, his new verses are pretty good as well as the diss track. actually, just about everything he's done since Relapse (excluding Refill) has been pretty solid
lil wayne has his decent songs that can be catchy but c'mon ? his lyrics are pointless and make no sence
eminem on the other hand has tight lyrics that make you goooo crazy, eminem is a legend as for lil wayne is just there.. well technically there in jail heheh
