I have never read so much shit from people complaining about Fat Mike doing what he did.. I just watched that thing on Fuse and it was hilarious and truthful.. For a person to not be able to question someone's belief's or a theory like god, you really need to move to a country where the is no freedom of religion.. he was definitely not taking jabs at them. people need to just lighten up. he asked them question because he was actually showing interest, and tyring understand where they were coming from. you cant blame the guy for trying to make heads of tails of what some people believe. not everyone is so easily convinced in that area. and nothing said even came across as hurtful or ignorant. just a guy being himself like he always has been. why its offending people now is beyond me

the only person he was really rude to was his band mate, and clearly that was a joke.
he asked very valid questions of them. personally when the guitarist from underoath was talking, i couldn't help but think he was ridiculous... i mean.. come the fuck on you think you're a bad person because you have the capability to hate? fuck people were born that way.. theres no amount of bible reading or praying that will stop you from being able to be pissed off.

haha, its funny and everything.... everybody had a good laugh. i get it.... underoath doesnt believe in dinasours.... because they believe in God. thas pretty funny. fat mike really needs to grow up. i understand it is the "punk" thing to do to piss people off, but he really needs to stop worrying about what other bands are doing, and focus more on his own music. bush only has a couple years left, what is he gonna bitch about then. i guess hes using bands such as underoath to transition into making fun of christians. that is very mature. the bush thing definately got old, and this is old before it even began. stop bitching about shit that does not affect you, and make music.

eh it could have been a lot worse/better or whatever. he didn't really piss them off that much and he kind of made a fool of himself instead of really debating them. the dude in underoath who said he was a bad person becuase he was capable of hate should take a long hard look at his religion because it is causing and fueling a lot of hatred these days, especially toward homosexuals. i can't think of many aspects of christianity i agree with anymore.

agreed on all counts. that's another big issue i have with the christian religion. it intentionally makes people feel guilty for who they are instead of learning to love themsleves and, in turn, love one another. if you think you're a bad person, chances are you will think everyone is bad as well.

you think the guy in underoath is a right-wing radical? i mean, yeah i do tend to make sweeping generalizations about christianity but only when they encompass things that i believe are basic tenets of the religion.
most christians oppose same sex marriage.
many christians support war but oppose abortion, which to me is hilarious.
and things that are written in the bible (thou shall not covet, etc.) are basically impossible and cause people to think they are bad for merely having feelings that are typical of all humans. also, things that people interpret from the bible have been used to justify more evil things than i can begin to name. this just shows how damaging it can be to rely on faith so heavily.
anyway, my qualms are with religion in general not just christianity. it just so happens that christianity is by far the most dominant religion in this country.

I like NOFX, but they do lack talent. But that's what real old school punk rock is all about as far as the music is concerned. If you listen to The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Clash, Black Flag, etc. you can hear a distinct lack of quality and attention to making it sound perfect. It is what it is.
Underoath is not my cup of tea....at all. But to each his own. Their belief system just gives me a reason not to like them as people, as well as musicians.

What'd the guy in Underoath say that you're referring to? I'm sorry, I missed that.
Many Christians do oppose same sex marriage, but that doesn't mean that it's our place to condemn it. Everyone has an opinion, but the word also teaches us that judgement is left to the Lord, not to us. I'm not sure where you're pulling the war thing from, that seems a bit far fetched.
The bible also says that we are all sinners, and that none of us can be perfect but we should strive to live a better life. That's not damaging.

But that doesn't change the fact that Underoath blows, and God would not tolerate listening to them for more than 4 seconds. Even though they like him.

this is the thing, they were saying they were bad people. but there is no guilt at all in that. guilt isn't an aspect when it comes to a true Christian situation, because of the belief in the redemptive qualities of Christ. Thus, you can say you are a bad person, but not feel guilty or condemned. Rather, you can feel optimistic about who you can become.

As much as I respect and admire NoFx's abilities as musicians, Fat Mike has no right to disrespect his fellow musicians at Warped Tour - you don't see band members from Underoath, Emery, and Amber Pacific mocking the attitudes of NoFx, and Fat Mike should realize that controversy isn't the only way to gain attention.

i think fat mike asked actually very dumb questions. to me it proved he knew very little about true christianity, not right wing christianity or even american christianity but a biblical faith. and it proved he was very judgemental and disresepectful by not doing his research but being ignorant, the same goes for christians in alot of situations. theres no such thing as a good christian. only holiness comes through christ. and in regards to the drugs alcohol thing, moderation in alcohol (especially wine) does no damage to you, its allowed through Christ. but drugs, no matter what the personality really, are very addictive and habitual. yes alcohol can be the same for some people but for those people they simply should not drink.
and about the relationship with God vs society, its God first then through that love yuou should care about society

No way! Temptation isn't wrong. Everyone is tempted. Even Jesus was tempted. The sin comes from giving into the temptation. I didn't actually hear any of the guys in the Bible Study say being tempted was wrong, but I might have missed it.
All in all, I think Fat Mike steps over some major lines. I mean, like somebody said before, none of the guys at that Bible Study gave him a hard time. They were cool with him, they answered his questions and tried to be courteous. But just to barge in like that and be disrespectful after the total crap he spewed from stage, that's not just right.

i think fat mike asked actually very dumb questions. to me it proved he knew very little about true christianity, not right wing christianity or even american christianity but a biblical faith. and it proved he was very judgemental and disresepectful by not doing his research but being ignorant, the same goes for christians in alot of situations. theres no such thing as a good christian. only holiness comes through christ. and in regards to the drugs alcohol thing, moderation in alcohol (especially wine) does no damage to you, its allowed through Christ. but drugs, no matter what the personality really, are very addictive and habitual. yes alcohol can be the same for some people but for those people they simply should not drink.
and about the relationship with God vs society, its God first then through that love yuou should care about society
what?!? they showed a few clips of him asking some very basic questions and he's considered very judgemental and disrespectful? i'm not saying he isn't, but that clip hardly proved that. he wanted to see what the whole deal was about and he engaged in a somewhat intellectual debate on it. i dont see how questioning something is disrespecting, because without debate its impossible to understand. not to mention that people in the bible study were still talking to him afterwards and whatnot, leads me to believe that they weren't terribly "disrespected."

i wouldn't have known who it was. obviously not all of the guys on warped tour know everyone in all the bands. that was kinda funny though.

what i siad is i think it was disrespectful in the sense that this man can from stage mock bands and individuals who believe in christ or God, and then show up to a bible study and ask questions that prove he had no idea what he was even mocking and saying couldnt be real. he may have been mocking "the religous right" but he didnt even come close to christianity.

And I can tell you, if God was walking this Earth...he would not listen to Underoath.
God is totally a Johnny Cash fan.
Black Flag?

Fat Mike is a cool guy, Ive talked to him a few times and love watching him on stage.
Thats weak that Underoath pulled out, maybe they should find a less stressfull job. I like some of their music but this has made me rethink a little.

i don't like nofx, and i think fat mike can be a sack of crap sometimes (based on what i've read of what he's said), but he raises valid points.... i think it's sad how lots of christian kids let themselves become torn apart by guilt despite being very good people.

I'd have sand in my vagina too if my band sucked as bad as NOFX..
But these bands are cool with you- right?
Brand New, Jack's Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Acceptance, My Chemical Romance, Plain White T's, Story Of The Year, Underoath (not music, its noise), Armor For Sleep, Atreyu, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab For Cutie, Linkin Park, A Static Lullaby, Anberlin, Cartel, Death Cab For Cutie, Emanuel, Every Time I Die, Fall Out Boy, From Autumn To Ashes, Gatsby's American Dream, Halifax, Mae, Matchbook Romance, Panic! At The Disco (seriously the worst band that I've ever had the misfortune to hear), Papa Roach, Paramore, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Senses Fail, Straylight Run
:::yawn::: I'll admit- you like some good bands with melody and stuff too (I took those off the list), and I even like a few bands on this list, but seriously man- NOFX KILLS any of these bands.

Ok, I rescind my statement about them not having talent....I didn't mean it the way textualizing it makes it sound. I agree they have talent, but it is relatively unpolished. The Decline is an exception I think.... It is one of my favorite albums/songs ever.
But that doesn't change the fact that Underoath blows, and God would not tolerate listening to them for more than 4 seconds. Even though they like him.
And your wrong, God loves Cash, JESUS loves Dragonforce. Ha.
The only descendant of God that would like NOFX is Craig Christ.....

God is totally a Johnny Cash fan. Well if you don't think London Calling is viturally perfect and Sandinista! so unique, you change your lifestyle you have NO ears. God loves Cash & LC, Jesus loves Sandinista! and of course Dragonforce. But evryone in heaven loves Revlover, Deja Entendu, & The Shape Of Punk To Come.

alot of people that post replies to posts like this know very very little about christianity..wut happened to just accepting people regardless of something like their personal religion? someone posted earlier saying that because underoath are christians it gave him/her a reason not to like them as people. That's a horrible, horrible mindset to have. You most likely have never had a chance to get to know anyone in this band but simply based on the fact that they have a different belief system than you, you say you dislike them as people? that's very sad.

wow, you are quite retarded
you have to admit, it doesn't require very much talent to talk shit about stuff. I'm not saying his music is good or bad, I'm just saying it takes more of your time to write an actual song that to just write a song that says "fuck the president...etc etc." Oh and it was funny that Aaron didn't know the "fuckin mexican" was El Hefe. El Hefe is way cooler than Fat Mike btw.

he just has questions. in all seriousness, i'm pretty sure it will be a great day when fat mike becomes a Christian. He'll be the modern day Paul. you know, the guy who was walking on the road to damascus. He used to kill christians before he was blinded by a great light that God sent before him. He asked for forgivness, became a Christian, and then became one of the most well known believers in the bible. Fat Mike, there is still hope for you. keep asking questions, it's the only way you'll find answers.
good point, ignored by everyone. it's ok to think outside the box. i mean, think about it. what if fat mike actually did become a christian? what would all of you "punk", hardcore nofx fans say? would you make fun of him like he makes fun of underoath and all the others? Would you change your lifestyle because of fat mike? it would be an interesting situation. come on, let's hear what people have to say about this.
Man every post is fatmike is disprespectful omg how could he say those things on stage what an asshole
Wow punk has changed

As much as I respect and admire NoFx's abilities as musicians, Fat Mike has no right to disrespect his fellow musicians at Warped Tour - you don't see band members from Underoath, Emery, and Amber Pacific mocking the attitudes of NoFx, and Fat Mike should realize that controversy isn't the only way to gain attention.
thats because they would hate themselves even more for being capable of hate

ofcourse you won't like underoath.
but there is no way in the world you can say they aren't talented... if you play an instrument and can honestly say you think that define the great line has no musical talent in it... then you are insane.
it is okay not to like a band, but to say they have no talent when they clearly do... just makes you look like an idiot.

no, that is rediculous and would obviously never happen. i don't really know how you got that i thought that EVERYONE will become a christian. i just said what IF fat mike did. i guess what you're trying to say is if Fat Mike became a Christian, then he is the last person on earth who would become one and so if he is a christian then everyone would have to be a christian? is that what you think i was saying? i wasn't saying that at all, but i was just saying that there is hope for everyone, but not everyone will find that hope, obviously.

nofx is the band that i can thank for opening the doors to a whole new world of music. way back when punk in drublic was released. this was the same year most of you guys were being born. so i have always had so much respect and feel very thankful torwards the band that helped form me into who i am today. in a matter of 5 minutes of seeing them on stage talking about the things they are talking about i lost every ounce of respect i have ever had for them. they are one of the oldest most respected bands on warped tour and they act like fucking children. what he said about UO was bad, those dudes dont deserve it. it goes beyond that for me...for someone who is against christian beliefs and the "close minded" aspects of christianity he is the most close minded opinionated pricks i have ever seen.im not even a christian but to each his own you know. the worst part of the show was when a member of the smash up ( a smaller band on the tour) was trying to show his respects and shake the hand of his idol. mike wouldnt even so much as take his hand off the handle bar of his bicycle to shake the kids hand. nor even give him the hospitality of a look in the eyes. if your no longer in it for the fans and you dont care about anything but pissing people off i think you have lost the whole point mike. and you need to pack up your shit and leave.
