Has anyone listened to the leaks?
AOF = Standard, I've moved away from that kind of music nowadays. Some good songs (Drunks, Lovers, Sinners and Saints is pretty rad) but it doesn't seem that amazing.
New NJ awesome. I love how these guys do something different with every cd. I can describe this one somewhere between Bless and O'god.
Anyway just wondering what peoples opinions were?
Havn't heard new AOF, but new NJ sounds good. It's not as crazy as Bless the Martyr or O' God, but not bad nonetheless.

I haven't heard the new Norma Jean.
The new Alexisonfire disc isn't that bad, but I really have no interest in this band. It's a better effort than the last disc, but that doesn't say much. I like the fact that Wade does more vocally on this album, besides that its blah.
I dunno...
It appears that alexis has gone down in talent as their albums have progressed. Not that their not talented of course, just more radio friendly.
For instance:
Self-Titled - Songs like Counterparts were/are mind-blowing.
Watch Out! - Somewhat softer approach, but still keeps up the heavy trend. (Fear of myself, Get Fighted, Hey Mama etc)
Crisis - More melodic tone, and much more radio friendly. (This could be anywhere), but still has some heavier songs (We are the sound, Drunks, Lovers, Sinners and Saints)
Still lovem though =)

they both put out decent albums, neither of which compare to the debut full lengths

fact: 95% of the bands discussed here gradually get shittier and shittier with every release.

Do you think thats because they are infact shitty? Or that our expectations are so high that ultimately they can't live up to our expectations?

it's due to the law of averages.

yeah, most of the bands im referring to are shit. and it could also be that the people who listen to their early stuff are used to listening to that style they once had, so they find it hard to adjust to the new material.
i don't like alexisonfire but i like the new norma jean album a lot
