The Duplass brothers, who recently premiered their first studio effort, Cyrus, to rave reviews at Sundance, are moving right along on their next major release. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark and Jay Duplass have cast Jason Segel and Ed Helms to star in their stoner comedy Jeff Who Lives at Home. The always wonderful and underrated Judy Greer (Arrested Development) is also expected to join the film.

The two actors will play brothers who don't have a lot in common. Segel is the titular Jeff, who lives at home, while Helms will be the more "together" sibling. Greer would play the latter's wife.

Jeff is being produced by Up in the Air director Jason Reitman and John Malkovich (who hopefully makes at least a cameo) and is set to begin shooting in New Orleans next month.

Exciting.

I love him in The League, but I like him as a director more, honestly. And his wife (Kate Aselton, Jenny in The League) just made a mumblecore movie, too, hah. It's supposed to be pretty decent.

yeah i got it waiting on Netflix apparently it gets released the 11th of January. So far the only movies I've seen of his are The Puffy Chair (my favorite), Hannah Takes the Stairs (didnt really care for it), Greenberg (great but Marks in two scenes really) and Humpday (hilarious, good movie but a little strange). i wanna see Cyrus too...i think this will more than likely be great

This screened in Toronto. March release date (2nd for Limited/9th for Wide) that's already been convered, but, pretty excited. wondering if it'll top Cyrus. Looks great, though. http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/sep/22/jeff-who-lives-at-home-toronto-review

Also, I guess The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, which has been done for awhile might get released soon, although there is not a whole ton of info on that besides a real basic plot summary.

Just saw this. I thought there was a perfect balance of comedy and drama, it made me think of 50/50's tone in a way. The only things i didn't like were the cinematography; it was like watching a tv show and i guess it fit the story... But i didn't like it. I felt like i was AD or The office. Speaking of The Office, i could only see Ed Helms as Andy in this film. I thought i would watch this and think Segel was too much like Marshall from HIMYM, but i actually really liked the way he portrayed Jeff.

So, yeah. I liked it.

The average movie goer is extremely irresponsible. It expanded a bit, and people saw, "The dude from The Office and the other dude from CBS!!!" and went out to see it without doing their due diligence on the directors/writers. Happens all the time. Like that cunt that tried suing because Drive wasn't Fast and Furious 13.

It was a thoughtful comedy/drama, and I enjoyed it for the most part. I just found the ending very maudlin and unnecessary. I think the theme could have been demonstrated in a subtler way. Just my opinion.
