View Full Version : Michael Giacchino
I know cinematic scores are a bit uncommon for forum chats on here, but I was wondering if there's any other fans of Michael Giacchino's work on AP. Anyone who's seen Lost can attest to how his music really adds an amazing element to the show. His work on Up, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Fringe, Alias, etc... are excellent as well. The man can really write moving and beautiful pieces of music.

His music on Space Mountain isn't half as badass as Dick Dale's.

Don't forget Star Trek! Granted, the theme song didn't show up until the credits, but frankly, his score was so good I didn't even care. I love pretty much everything he does.

Love his work on Lost.
Up! and Star Trek are my favorites from him. The married life theme from Up is a thing of beauty and I loved how epic his Star Trek score sounded, especially when the main theme finally came in at the end.
Lost, Star Trek, and Up!... this guy seems to do no wrong. I love everything that I've heard from him; his stuff carries so much emotion, and almost all of it is memorable.

Really happy when he won the Oscar last week. He really deserves it. As someone posted before, "Married Life" from the Up soundtrack is really a wonderful piece of music.

When he won the Oscar, I screamed "Yes!" really loud through my house, haha. I normally don't care about awards shows, but I seriously would've been upset if he had lost it. He was up against some of the best, but his work on Up! made that movie. The man's a genius, he has the potential to be the next Michael Kamen. Brilliant musician.

I'm really happy to see him getting so much acclaim for his work over the past few years. The first time he truly captured my attention was with his work on The Incredibles...I love the way his music perfectly reflected the era the film presented. Up, Star Trek, Ratatouille, and LOST are just astounding. Dude rules.

God, the music during this sequence is still my favorite thing he's done. I always go back to that moment on the DVDs cause it's so simple yet incredibly powerful, and not a lot of composers can do that.
I have the LOST Season One and Star Trek OST's on my iTunes. So amazing.

My favorites are the Medal of Honor soundtracks that he's done. They are really fantastic pieces of music that you might not expect from a video game.
I can't wait to hear his score for Super 8
