Coheed Cut in Half

Coheed and Cambria (http://www.absolutepunk.net/coheedandcambria) have announced on their website (http://www.coheedandcambria.com) that bassist Michael Todd and drummer Josh Eppard will not be playing on the group's upcoming tour. Todd will be replaced by Matt Williams (who used to play in Jumblehead with Claudio) and former Samiam drummer MP is filling in for Eppard. There is no word on whether or not these replacements are temporary or permanent.

"We'll discuss their future at a later date, but right now, all we want to do is to get out and play for our fans," says Sanchez. "Travis and I are excited to share the stage with Matt and MP, because they add a new flavor to the songs and it makes performing them even more fun."

Thank the fucking lord I went to their April show. Omg I would be so depressed if they left. Coheed is one of my favorite bands of all time, I spent so much on freakin merchandise. The graphic novels, albums....shit. This better not be perminant.

I think the lead guitarist writes some amazing riffs. Super-catchy. Unless Claudio writes them and makes him play them. In which case, I would have to agree with all the "Claudio=Coheed" remarks littering this page.

On a more related note, I always hate seeing band members leave... it makes me feel like the band members that fill their positions aren't "real" in some way. I always tend to respect/like bands less when they lose members. TBS, Hot Rod Circuit, etc. With that in mind, I hope it's temporary.

josh and mic were asked to leave because of some drug abuse. The future of their departure hasn't been determined yet.

But Josh has been a pill popper for a few years now, and Mic has been addicted to booze and Oxycontin for a few months, hence his recent weight loss and appearance

you can say it's bullshit, but it's reality...some just force themselves not to believe it

I'm a big poster on the Coheed board, and according to some friends of mine who are friends with the band, the drug rumors are definitely true. The guy also said the replacement are great guys.

You're partially right, but since nobody has hit the nail on the head... i guess i'll go ahead and do that. Why hide the truth?

Regardless of the drug problems, i dont think that has alot to do with mic and josh leaving. In fact know it doesnt. Or it would have happened a long time ago.

Alot of bands have drug problems, sometimes it affects the band, other times it doesnt... i dont think we should be focusing on the drugs. And knocking josh or mic about any type of drug problem, thats their business.

First of all Mic and Josh quit... And the main reason being that they just flat out didnt get along, didnt see eye to eye basically. and couldnt stick it out. This isnt the first time they have had their differences, and if you ask me this has been a long time coming. Now add drugs to the already existing problems... and yes.. it only helps speed up whats inevitable...

I do know this, claudio isnt the easiest person to get along with. If you're going to be a band, be a band... If one person cosiders themselves the "artist"... then go solo.... It never works when you're pushing and pulling each other.
