im thinking this is the record catalyst should have been. though i prefer high tempo nfg i think the songs ive heard are a good example of maturing, minus the lyrics "you smell how angels ought to smell"

Its a Sin City reference I believe.

Oh, and does anyone know who else is supporting them in the UK along with Hit The Lights since Say Anything dropped out?

The two released songs have been alright, still looking forward to the album.

I figured It's Not Your Fault would be the second song on the cd considering the first singels from the past two albums have been the second song.

My Friends Over You - #2 Sticks and Stones
All Downhill From Here - #2 Catalyst

but I am very excited for this cd

yeah, i kind of wished they kept their original tempo. but maturity is the obvious, and no complaints here. i can't wait.

hmm, im not huge on sticks and stones, but i thought catalyst it was too appearent they were trying to figure out where their sound was going.

This is where fans of NFG differ...

My favorite NFG album is Sticks and Stones. Thats the beauty about this band, they don't have one record that everyone likes the best, there are a lot of different opinions.

I heard their new cd is more like Sticks and Stones more than Catalyst. Either way I'm still excited to hear what they bring to the table. Everyone's going to have differnt opinions about this album or any album by any band, that's the beauty of music. Everyone likes their own thing and has their own opinions.

Self-titled and Nothing gold can stay owns all nfg cds. sticks and stones is good but no where close to great but i think catalyst is terrible(neverminding the few ok songs on it). now with "its not your fault" being their new single, the only thing good about that song is the chorus and that doesnt say much because most generic pop songs have a catchy chorus thats the only good part of the song. this band used to be amazing doing what they did best and thats pop punk at its finest. i say if they'e going to be a pop act then to not write your songs half assed. anyone can write a catchy chorus and thats not what nfg is known for. Stop making one part of the songs (chorus) the most memorable and start writing actual good songs from start to finish.

it's a quote from SIN CITY.

haha, nfg themselves have said in interviews that the catchy chorus is their trademark. i feel reversed about 'it's not your fault', i think the verses are great. the chorus is catchy but i hate the repetition of the same line. definately agree on the first two records being the best though, they seem to have the most heart.

uh does that make it any less stupid?.......no its a stupid line to have in a song, especially as a chorus. its laughable.

see i think NFG is one of the few bands to release back to back cd's that could very well be in a lot of peoples all time lists (self titled and sticks and stones)
not saying catalyst wasn't memorable....but those two cd's NFG took pop punk and turned it on its head and quite possibly influenced more bands than they get credit for

I really hope i like this album, i have a feeling it might not be as instantly likeable as earlier albums, think it's gonna be one of those that needs at least 5 or 6 spins before i make up my mind.

I don'tgive a shit if this CD sounds like NGCS, self-titled, S&S or Catalyst.

All I want is some New Found Glory, and I will be happy. They, like Jimmy Eat World, have yet to disappoint me.

They already did that when they released sticks and stones. They were all over mtv and had HUGE tours with "punk icons" like good charlotte (sarcasim). They just didnt get wicked cool action figures like f.o.b. (sarcasim).( its obvious fall out boy is marketing machine and wants to make lots of money and thats ok just as long as they please their fans with good tunes)Then they pulled a yellowcard and released a shit album (even though i think catalyst is better than yellowcards latest cd ). I'm looking forward to this cd i'm just sick of these bands trying to be diffrent and adding keys to their songs :(.
