I searched and no results turned up, so I guess I'll make a thread.

HBO.com posted the new trailer under the videos section, and it looks fantastic. Michael Pitt, Steve Buscemi, and Michael K. Williams (Omar from the Wire) are all in it. It premiers in the Fall 2010.

edit: Will premiere September 19th, 2010 at 9pm EST.

HBO's critically acclaimed "Boardwalk Empire" delivered a big surprise in the ratings -- and the network quickly rewarded the drama with a second-season order.

The Sunday night premiere was the premium network's most-watched premiere of any program in six years -- since "Deadwood" in 2004.

Figured as much. I knew HBO would be back, and I can already see this contending for best drama with Mad Men, but the pilot wasn't anything refreshing or original in my opinion. Hopefully it grows into something deep.

I love that Deadwood was their last big premiere. I hope it was a really rough few years at HBO.

I'm just saying I think it moved a little quicker than, say, The Wire's premiere. But either way, I think much like The Wire it will get better the more time it gets to breathe. The story of Prohibition in Atlantic City is incredibly interesting and steeped in corruption. Plus, absolutely stellar cast.

the plotlines are a little too cluttered, and the actors aren't being dynamic enough to be memorable in some cases. besides fbi man, jimmy, irish girl, and nucky i can't always remember who's who

dissident
10/04/10, 05:54 PM
i don't think that's the actors fault. a lot of large ensemble shows with many plot threads take almost an entire season to really get comfortable with and understand and follow everything clearly. and even then a second viewing of the entire season is usually necessary.

Been watching this series since it aired. Forgot to join the thread though. It's certainly a growing series.

Really some strong stuff in this past week's. Enjoyed all the scenes between Nucky and Margaret, wasn't expecting their relationship to grow to what it is now. All of the scenes with Jimmy and Richard, the war vet, were remarkably powerful. Especially loved how he killed Pearl's attacker. Felt like it showed both justice and gave the struggling vet a sense of purpose instead of just pity.
