I agree... but it's a lot easier to enjoy this album if you're not so critical and realize this isn't meant to be groundbreaking stuff here. It won't be an album I replay often, but it's a fun album with a few solid songs and a few decent songs.

I don't think the lyrics are supposed to be "strong". HGB is a fun band and thats how you should take it, they wont win any prizes for content though they should make your feet happy...

Whoever even tries to take Hellogoodbye seriously, I feel sorry for. The lyrics aren't weak, they're what you're supposed to expect from this band. Have you listened to previous stuff they've created? Obviously they're not the next Bright Eyes but that's because they don't try to be. It's shit you just have fun listening to. With that said, the new songs are pretty mint. :). End of story.

But whatever, I really liked this album.Because we have the integrity to cover bands whose albums some of our staff may not have cared for. Why? Our readers want to know about things like Hellogoodbye streaming their album, so we'll bring them that information. We strive to be the biggest news site for our "scene" and by not posting "big" things like this, it cheapens what we do. You'll see us post news on CIWWAF and Hawthorne Heights at times, even though our staff are not fans of those bands. Why? Some people who come here are.

Not to mention the fact that some people have not yet heard the album and this will give them a chance to listen for themselves.

You know how many bands say our users are assholes? I can think of quite a few off the top of my head; they just don't say it publicly. Our users for the most part are assholes; it's a fact of life. Our staff is fairly professional when it comes to music. Just because Forrest (gives us free publicity and) says that reading AP.net can be kind of depressing for a band shouldn't and doesn't influence our opinion of the band.

I am a Hellogoodbye fan. I've seen them twice and bought the EP, which I really enjoy. I was disappointed by the full album (as were many others). I think they can write a better album than they did, and I think their next album will show that.

I honestly believe that the hate you're describing toward the band is not because of his comments, but because of the debut LP.

and on everyoen hating the cd, and why it DESERVED A 5 in Alt Press:

1) this record is a very fun record, if your into that, and if you do not buy it by the end of the year you will be a loser, since this record will not last that long in many peoples cd players.

20 forrest himself said he was a song person not a cd person. so that what this cd has really good songs but not a great cd.

i love this album. yeah sure its just another one of those bands btu theyr ecool cuz they mix this electronic sound to their songs. Some of their lyrics are pretty great. Inspirational music.
