I voted for Travis Hafner obviously he's the best
yeah man I think that too.
this just has to be the year that a DH wins it. it's ortiz all the way, there's no other player who has been more valuable to his team. it definitely won't be a-rod, unless he hits about .800 from now til the end of the season.

Morneau has more of a chance that AROD

I was going to put him up there but I figured I'd get hassled for not putting A-Rod up there.

I think Morneau is my fourth pick at least. But I am from Minnesota. He should definitely get more votes than Alex Rodriguez though.

Ortiz and Papelbon should split it.
without the both of them, we are lookin up at the orioles.

than you can argue Liriano/Santana.

nope. starting pitchers have their own award.
unless a pitcher wins 30 games again, the mvp shouldnt be given to them.

good, i'm not the only one. morneau is THE MOST underrated player in the american league, in my opinion. bar none.
ortiz is the MVP. hands down.

then you gotta get rid of papelbon in the discussion since RP's can win the Cy Young, too. It isnt just an award for SPs, but you obviously know that.
It'll be Ortiz but if you asked me who is the most important to our team, its Papelbon.

no, its different with RP's... in the case of papelbon, he pitches almost every day. hence MVP

out of those david ortiz.
but i think you need to take off arod and add jeter.
jeter has been fantastic this year.
he is batting a sick 350 and maybe eclipse 100 rbi. not too mention he has had a good year fielding again.

If Jeter wins the batting title and the Yankees win the division, I think Jeter should make the top 5, but it's pointless to even discuss it, because it's hands down Ortiz.

Morneau deserves it way more than a Yankee like BigMike said. He's second in RBIS, has like a .323 average, and he will get near 40 homeruns by seasons end.

i don't think anyone here was suggesting a yankee should win this...

How does A-rod get on this list above Jeter?

thank you! i knew i could count on you for that.
"Jeter may eclipse 100 rbis" oooohhhh, ahhhhhh so great
Morneau lead a team that was buried 3 months ago, into the thick of things in the AL playoff race.
Morneau's on pace for:
.323, 43 HRs, 147 RBIs (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), 188 H, 33 DBL, .599 SLG %, .975 OPS.
if someone told you guys this stat line before the season but didn't give you the name everyone would think it was manny or david ortiz. Morneau's the most underrated player in the major leagues, right now.

Twin pitching also had a lot to do with their comeback.

twins weren't driving in Joe Mauer to give themselves the lead. I didn't say it was the biggest reason or the entire reason why they climbed back into the race, but they weren't winning games 0 to -1.

It helps when youre pitching staff/defense can hold teams to about 2 runs a game.
