Delightful dream pop/girl vocals/whatever with shoegaze influences. Anyone a fan?

I haven't even thought of them in, christ, years. I know the two dropped a new album a year or two ago, but I never picked it up. They were okay. I really liked Citrus when it first came out, but it's been so long.

I think (and I could be wrong) Citrus was the second album, because I remember going back and buying something around the summer after freshmen year of college (summer '06) because I dug the second release enough to check out what came before.

I know this is silly to say about dream pop, but I really want their songs to explode into massive, anthemic choruses. They're just pretty and catchy enough to appeal to me, though. Speaking of pretty and Asians, I told my friend yesterday that my dream girl would be an Asian born and raised in Jamaica so that she could have a really sweet Jamaican accent. Yeah, don't ask. My mind works in mysterious ways. Speaking of mysterious ways, I bought a U2 live DVD for $3 on Saturday.

See, I don't know if it's mindblowing or not. I can't really remember all that well. I mean, sure, I recall tracks like Thursday, and they're catchy, but I just stopped listening a few years ago and never revisited. They're one of the casualties of expansion, I suppose. I apologize because, as much shit as I give you, I realize you don't make threads like these to bump a band often, so I don't want to derail one if it's among the few you actually make.

Truth be told, I haven't listened to the new Ariel Pink track. I'm waiting to get the whole release. There is a fair amount of discussion/buzz for it on other boards/blogs given his ties with Animal Collective.

That would be especially creepy over a message board, but no, I'm not a cyber predator, and she doesn't, to the best of my knowledge, have a Jamaican accent. Also, she likes boring music. She's not my type.

As mentioned, I'm used to you molesting every thread ever! Seriously though, I create threads all the time and under the idea that they'll likely not receive many posts, considering how niche they can be (but not always). I'm used to derailment and often invite it. If I were to only make one on rare occasions, I'd be more apt to try and keep it on-topic. As such, I'm extending the courtesy of what I'd like if I only made a few threads to you. What do you think of the last album? Is it worth picking up?

Are you familiar with Big Lots? I'm not sure how popular that chain is. Anyways, they had a copy of Rattle and Hum in their $3 DVDs section. The front cover has a cheap "I love the 80's" border, and it doesn't have the CD, but I have the studio tracks from that CD already thanks to that greatest hits album, so I'm fine with that.

Big Lots sounds familiar, but I can't say I know it all that well. I see you're from PA and I'm from NY so maybe I should know it? I'm currently residing in MN and definitely don't think I've seen one around here.
As for the front cover, that wouldn't deter me too much. The content's what matters and that's a sweet deal. I still hold that the best deal I ever got was the used original releases of Michael Jackson's Thriller album and Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints for $5 at a used CD shop. I was so stoked to find those deals that those CDs stayed in my car's CD changer throughout high school. Best $5 I ever spent!

Babies are obnoxious assholes. They have creepy small extremities, walk around with bags of excrement around their waist and ruin movies. Oh, and get this; it's illegal to put them in a closet. So, hey, yeah, they take up a bunch of space, but it's somehow wrong to, I don't know, USE THE FUCKING SPACE IN AN APARTMENT/HOUSE/CONDO/DUMPSTER YOU PAID FOR/SQUATTED AT FIRST IN A CONVENIENT WAY by stashing the kid in an enclosed environment for a while! How the fuck does that work in fucking America?
I hate babies. Kids are almost as bad, but sometimes, it's incredibly fun to implant deliberately wrong pieces of information into their impressionable heads, which makes up for their lameness.

I used to like this band okay until I found out that the way the band was formed was James Hanna and some other dude put out an ad essentially asking for exotic looking Japanese chicks to try out for a band so they could run with a gimmick, and she's the one they liked best. That kind of killed it for me. Shady.

Didn't you grow up in a dumpster or something? Or was that just to lure partisan punk and his extremely punk ethos...
My mommy used to tell me that drinking too much Coca Cola would turn my face black, and I was scared of that. Wow, that didn't sound racially tinged at all.

But you don't like me.
I hate it when a girl says something like this. If I agree, then I'm a douche, but if I don't, I'm being forced to compliment her as part of some kind of weird, thinly veiled romantic plan. You know the friend I mentioned earlier with that ridiculous Jamasian story? Well, I forget how it got started, but she kept making jokes about how I don't like her face. Also, when I jokingly called my tongue-in-cheek douchebaggery "tough love," she said something along the lines of, "Oh, so you love me then?" The fact that some of our first conversations involved her complaining about her horrible boyfriend (ex now) certainly doesn't help. Oh, and after a theological discussion we had, I innocently invited her to Bible study, which I fear will backfire. She's a cool girl, so I want to be her friend, but she seems more interested in me than I am in her, if you know what I mean. And to think that our friendship started with me making fun of her design project and favorite bands! Bah. I conveniently let her know about another girl I kinda like, though, so maybe she caught my drift and won't be so weirdly needy with our friendship. Or, maybe this has all been in my head. Bah, this is why I hate sexual drives: They make simple friendliness so unnecessarily complicated.
"tl;dr" version: I just used your post as a way to turn this thread into a mini "PL Forum"-ish rant, minus the absurd social awkwardness, because I bloody can.

It's so annoying when you like a release but don't love it, but you see potential for something awesome, so you wait for the next album, and the next, and that potential just doesn't get realized.
