Yeah, I'm behind on shit. Whatever. I just picked up Entanglements after picking up Safe as Houses a couple years back and hating it. It's (not so) amazing (at all) how time and experience changes taste. What compelled me to finally take the plunge was the Xiu Xiu split where they each covered the Smiths. I'm glad I did. I suppose you could call this jangley, you could call it baroque at times, you could call it noisy kinda. I like it though. It's perverse pop music.

Oh, and the lead singer is just gorgeous. I think I've found my new crush.

No...ish. They're associated with Xiu Xiu because Stewart produced part of their first album, has a split of Smiths covers (well, two) with them, has toured with them and collaborated with them. There's also thematic similarity in lyrics, but not entirely. Both challenge gender binary exceptionally.
